Want to get away from it all? Forget the daily grind by visiting Reflections, our attractive Chesapeake Bay beach cottage. Wake up to gorgeous sunrises and unlimited views. Walk the private beach to New Point Lighthouse, the second oldest lighthouse on the Bay. Spectacular sunsets are just a short walk to the Nature Conservatory's overlook on Mobjack Bay. Your backyard is a beach of sugar-white sand. The water is shallow and warm without dangerous waves, undertows and currents. You and your children will love it. Reflections' great room and master bedroom overlook the many moods of the Chesapeake. One bedroom is especially appealing to children - its beds are World War II Liberty ship bunks. The third bedroom features a wicker trundle bed. Reflections is tastefully decorated and so comfortable and relaxing you won't want to leave - ever. Ideally situated on Chesapeake Bay, sun, sand and water sports await you. If you tire of swimming, hiking and browning to a golden tan, try your hand at fishing, clamming or crabbing within sight of your own private deck. Kayakers love the many water trails and the chance to paddle with porpoise. If you love nature, you will enjoy the visits from many different migratory waterfowl including herons, osprey, pelicans and occasionally, eagles. The nearby town of Mathews is a quaint 19th century community with old homes and interesting shops. Trips to Jamestown, Colonial Williamsburg and Yorktown allow you to walk the streets of our forefathers and are easy commutes. Busch Gardens, Water Country, Virginia Beach and many fine golf courses are easily accessible. Centrally located between Virginia Beach, Richmond and Washington, Reflections is the ideal vacation site.

Spring Break Getaway

My husband and I spent four days in March at Reflections. We LOVED it! The cottage is cute, comfortable, and clean. The view is AMAZING! Four glass doors look out onto the Bay. The sunrise is beautiful to watch, from your bedroom or living room window. What a relaxing break. We walked the beach, read on the deck, biked around the town. The New Comfort lighthouse, on the other side of the peninsuala, is an easy bike ride. We also biked around the deserted streets, admiring the old, beautiful homes (farmhouses and bungalows). We would highly recommend Richardson's Drug Store, in town, for lunch or dinner. Great food, especially the fried gulf shrimp and clam strips. Also, Southwind Pizza has an easy vibe and delicious eats. Michael and Barbara are very helpful and friendly - really easy to work with. We would DEFINITELY recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a nice break.

Everything I hoped for and more

I chose Reflections as my destination for an off-season personal retreat weekend. I was looking for unfettered, expansive water views, sounds of the surf, plenty of wildlife, as few people as possible, and the comforts of home within. Reflections was everything I had hoped for, and more.

Within minutes of settling in I felt myself relax. I woke every morning to sunrises over the Bay, filled myself up with the beauty of nature, and looked out on an ever-changing vista with increasing tranquility and peace.

I am bringing my family back for a slightly different summer experience. I am certain it will be as wonderful as my winter solace was.

NOTE: This home is very well maintained and the owners are extremely easy to work with. Bonuses.

Worth the trip

I am a little behind in writing my review but we stayed at Reflections in September of 2007 and enjoyed every minute of it. Unfortunately we waited too long this year to schedule our vacation so Reflections was already booked. Very relaxing and quaint, my 3 year old (at the time) loved it and now we have a 7 month old that we can't wait to give the same experience. If you have a family with small children this place is ideal, no crowds and plenty of excitement. Not only is Reflections the perfect vacation spot but the owners are exceptionally pleasent and easy to deal with. DON'T MISS OUT!!

Wonderful

This is our third visit to the area and can honestly say we come home relaxed, not exhausted. And isn't that what a vacation is supposed to be?

We just finished our second stay at Reflections and we had a perfect week. Rest, relaxation, plenty of fishing and great crabs. Oops....I'm giving the secret away!

Since we've been home, I have been asked numerous times... "How was vacation?" My answer, "It was absolutely wonderful!" We are so thankful to be able to come and truly relax for the week!!

Thank you again for sharing your home with us!
