Further details for this vacation cottage rental in Cushing, Maine

Spectacular Beauty: If you are looking for the authentic Maine experience, this area has it. The Rockland-Thomaston area is the entry point to Penobscot Bay, perhaps the most scenic body of water on the eastern seaboard. Here you'll find scores of islands, a dozen historic lighthouses, and quiet little harbors filled with working lobster boats. Ospreys and bald eagles nest high in the spruces along the rugged shores, puffins make the islands their homes, deer browse the open fields, moose forage the wetlands, and harbor seals make their annual pilgrimage to quiet coves. Very relaxing vacation!

Cove's Edge was the cutest cottage, just right for the two of us. The owners were so friendly and hospitable. The cottage had all the amenities you'd need for a cozy and relaxing vacation. It was very convenient for us to kayak right from the shore in front of the cottage, just down some steps and you're right at the water! We saw lots of birds and even some seals! Great views and beautiful landscaping. We had a wonderful week and really hope to return again!

Slice of Heaven

Review Submitted: May 27, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
We found this cottage just as advertised. A Great spot to unwind and reconnect with Nature. The place was comfortable and the Owners very accommidating. Off the beaten path yet close enough to get to the center of town relatively quick. Try Rockland for Dinner, lots of nice places to eat. If you golf, Samoset is a must see, must play Beautiful course. If you like to Veg or just get out and explore this is a ideal location. Thank you to M & H for a Great Week.

This is my favorite vacation spot! We are returning this August for another stay and are making it a family tradition. The owners next door are extremely kind and helpful. The location on the water is picturesque and we enjoyed walking out our door to go kayaking on the water. As an artist, I loved that they are miles away from the Olson House and the Farnsworth Museum. Other nearby attractions that we greatly enjoyed were taking a ferry to Monhegan Island which was a fabulous experience. Next time we are going to Acadia National Park which is less than 2 hours away. I recommend getting breakfast at the nearby Thomaston Cafe for the best blueberry pancakes on earth. This spot is Maine's best kept secret!

Vacationland on my mind Northeast Massachusetts

Cushing, Maine is a gemstone within the beautiful state of Maine, and my time spent at this location was incredibly relaxing and rewarding. The owners, who live next door, are extremely friendly and cordial, and were intent on making my stay as fulfilling as possible. I had a guided tour of the Olsen House nearby, and that was truly special. Also, there is a wonderful general store nearby named A.S. Fales, which has been operating since the early 1800's. In this store is everything from boots to wear while clamming to fresh baked beans every Saturday!

We loved this little cabin! so great and relaxing. The owners are fabulous and so helpful in every way. There is a great closet full of jigsaw puzzles (500-1000) if you are a puzzler like myself. Magnificent and we hope to return someday
