I do NOT recommend to rent this house for many reasons:

1) the house was very dirty when we arrived, we had to wash all linens and clean the whole house full of dust . underneath the carpets we found soil. The pans for cooking were all over used and very old. the bbq as well.

2) there is a neighbor's dog that barks also during the night in the backyard.

3) we had only 4 towels when the house is supposed to accommodate up to 10 people. when we asked for more towels the owners were very polemical.

4) they din't give us the deposit back finding an excuse and they treated us in a very impolite way when we tried to talk to them.

Owner's Response: Giada was contacted on the evening of her arrival. It is my custom to do this by phone so I can make sure that there are no issues with amenities or cleaning. All guests are advised to let us know within 24 hours so we can address any concerns. Other than a question about the pool filter - no concerns were voiced. In addition, Giada visited the cottage on May 23rd and was so pleased with the layout, amenities and clean environment, that she asked to have her husband see it the next day. Unfortunately, the cottage was booked and we didn't want to disturb our guests. When booking the cottage we ask specifically about the number of children and adults in the family so we can have linens and towels prepared. Giada stated she had 2 adults and 2 children. Later she requested that our housekeeper bring her more six more towels and sheets for her "guests." Giada states in her review that she had to wash all the linens. However, if the linens were dirty - why would you request more? Regarding Giada's security deposit, below I have posted a copy of the email I sent to Giada on September 15th. Giada had 3 dogs in our home, in violation of our no pet policy. Dear Ms. Giada: As per your lease - The $600 security deposit is required and will be returned by the landlords within 3 weeks after lease expiration less any amount deducted for damage... As part of our check-in, I contact every guest upon arrival. On the evening of your arrival, I contacted you by phone to verify that the house was clean. You assured me that it was and only had one question - regarding the pool filter and heater. Please note, no one hung up the phone on you. Unfortunately, we both know you violated our no pet policy by having dogs on the premises. When confronted with the truth - you first denied having dogs at the house. Then you changed your story and said that "a friend came with her service dog." Now you are alleging that someone was "walking" a dog on our property. I am dismayed that in over 10 years of renting, that a guest would be so disrespectful our home. We have our own pets but always make accommodations for them when we travel. If you had expressed this issue with me, I would have been more than happy to recommend a suitable pet friendly home.

Quickly becoming a "second home".

This is my second year renting this beautiful home for a week in July. In total I've been renting there winters for 3 years. If you are a cook/foodie, you will instantly feel at home in the TRUE cooks Kitchen. From the appliances to the cookware, everything is First Rate. The owners are amazing and you really feel like you are staying in the home of a good friend. The pool and patio area are just perfect. The yard is not small, by any means, but even with people in the pool, by the pool, and on the patio grilling or sitting, you feel like you are all together. Of course bedding and linens are first rate and as one other reviewer noted, the Master shower is really calming and luxurious. Beware: After cooking for a while on the huge Wolf range, you may just need one!

Owner's Response: It's always nice to get a great review... but its even nicer to have guests who really treat your home like their own. Its always a pleasure to deal with Michael - who is thoughtful and considerate beyond measure. Thanks again for your kind words and we hope to see you next summer!

Perfect Summer Retreat

  • 5 of 5

We rented this lovely house for a week and found the space, amenities and neighborhood all very nice and convenient.

The house is clean and spacious feeling. The TVs are all very nice and there is a nice bonus room upstairs for kid games. The kitchen and bathroom supplies are very well stocked, and the backyard is lovely and pleasant to hang out or play in.

We haven't stayed in Bridgehamton before but found the location very convenient to Sag Harbor. We were a little disappointed with the restrictiveness of the south Hampton beaches but managed to find ones within a half hour or so most days. We went to Sagg Main beach during the week, Ponquogue on the weekend, and Montauk once since we were going to the lighthouse anyway.

Some places to enjoy: Nature Center was great, even for our 14 year old, Fresh Hamptons was pricey but had excellent food, and we enjoyed going over to Shelter Island one day for shell collecting and mini golf.

We also had very good/helpful interactions with the owner and their handyman when we needed a couple items.

Owner's Response: We are so happy you enjoyed the cottage. The town of Southampton updates parking rules for residents and non-residents annually... Information that we are happy to share with guests. Parking at the beach is at a premium during peak summer months. If driving to the beach, it's advisable to head out early. As an alternative to driving we also recommend using a local taxi service or biking to the beach. Enjoy the rest of the summer. We hope to have you back soon!

We had such a wonderful stay at the cottage! It was perfect for our group of two families with young children. We especially loved the open layout, huge dining room table, and everything about the setup outside (pool, grill, play area). Would highly recommend this cottage and hope to return again soon.

Pictures don't tell the whole story!!

  • 5 of 5

The pictures for this property do not do it justice. It is much more spacious and homey than you might think! From the minute we stepped through the front door we felt as if we were "home", from the quaintness of the decor to the quality of all the amenities - everything welcomed us and invited us to relax. The bedding and towels matched or exceeded anything we've ever used in a hotel (my husband wants to know why we can't have a shower like the one in the master bath!) and the kitchen was stocked just like our house. I would love to rave about the pool and patio because they seemed beautiful, but we had rain every day but one and did not make much use of the outdoors. The one afternoon in the pool was lovely, but we quickly covered everything back up anticipating storms. The home is perfectly situated in the middle of everything you might want to visit in the Hamptons. We spent a lot of time sightseeing and shopping since weather didn't permit going to the beach and felt our home base was perfect. Also, all the eateries recommended by Ann were fabulous! Thank you for allowing us into your home, Ann, we truly enjoyed your hospitality!!

Owner's Response: Rita - We put a lot of "love" into the cottage because it has been our respite from city life. We made some mistakes when we first started renting our vacation home ... but quickly realized a clean, well equipped and comfortable environment is what most people desire. We are very clear about what we offer and we truly want guests to be happy during their vacation. I hope you can visit again and I'm crossing my fingers for you for better weather. Thanks again for being such great guests and taking good care of our home.
