Down a sandy lane, sheltered by the tallest oaks in the area and frequently visited by hoot owls, this thoughtfully restored retreat provides a peaceful sanctuary from which to base a memorable vacation. The bright and airy fully-equipped gourmet kitchen has a breakfast bar and antique French doors which open onto the back deck for morning coffee in the sunlit garden. Large living room/ dining room and separate media/family room, both with fireplaces, and a half bath complete the ample first floor plan. All four bedrooms and two full baths are on the second floor; the master bedroom boasts an enormous antique 'lion's paw' double ended bathtub, as well as large shower with seat. One bedroom has a sleeping loft, good for children. The third floor roof deck is accessible from the master bedroom, up a ladder and through a small, serene and uncluttered meditation space.

Truro is blessed with exceptional beaches on both ocean and bay, and unique historical treasures: nearby is historical Highland Light, Cape Cod's oldest lighthouse, as well as the quaint Truro Historical Museum where volunteers explain displays and special exhibits illuminating life in Truro over the centuries. The Cape Cod National Seashore provides incomparable beauty and opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, jogging, swimming and surfing. Fishing on the ocean or bayside, from beach or boat is unforgettable. Thursday night summer concerts on the green in Truro center are always popular and just minutes away. Provincetown, famed for restaurants, shopping, whale-watching and nightlife, is 15 minutes one direction, while Wellfleet, known for galleries, the W.H.A.T.theatre, boating, beaches and Wednesday night square dances on the pier is 15 minutes the other way back down Rt. 6.

    There is a $500 surcharge above the weekly rental rate for use of premises for wedding parties and large gatherings.

    $500 Cleaning/security deposit (refundable); fees for pets depend on case by case basis (will send pet policy for interested parties). We accept credit cards.
  • Linens and sheets will be provided if they are left washed and folded (otherwise $100 will be deducted from cleaning fee).

The wrap-around screened porch, third floor rooftop basking deck, backyard terrace, front yard terrace and fire pit, hammock in the woods, back lawn with swing, comfortably long and deep window seats, fully stocked game cabinet and bocce court all offer many options to stay put, rain or shine. The caretaker/gardener lives on the premises. Swimming, surfing, or sandcastle building are all easily accessible at nearby Corn Hill Beach on the bayside, and Longnook or Ballston Beach on the oceanside. Morning croissants and wonderful deli sandwiches, groceries and newspapers, the Truro post office, bait & tackle shop and fish market are all 1 mile down quiet Castle Road. Castle Hill Center for the Arts is around the corner, as are the local farmstand and Pamet River Harbor. Golfers come from far and wide to play the oldest golf course on Cape Cod, the Highland Links, a public 9-hole par 36 combination of wind, dune and breath-taking ocean views. Pets allowed w/ prior approval.

Little Pamet House is a true gem. Full of lots of delightful touches such as window seats, a secluded porch, and a tree swing, this home is truly unique and inviting. The description and pictures accurately describe the charm of this cozy home. It is decorated with the owner's artwork and antiques - not a bit of generic beach-house-art to be found. The house is clean and well-maintained with a wonderful light-filled kitchen and plenty of rooms to find good spots to curl up with a book. Very short drive or 1 mi walk to beach which is perfect for children. Truro Center, Wellfleet and Provincetown all easily accessible. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and plan to return!
