Very nice place; highly recommended!
We just returned from a one week stay at the aptly named "Sunset Landing". This is a very nice property, clean, comfy, nicely decorated and with a beautiful, Chincoteague Channel - sunset view. The property is exactly as described on this site. It is a townhouse located right on South Main Street, which is the "quieter" end of Main Street, and approx. 1 mile from the main dining/shopping area of Main Street. This townhouse has central AC, washer/dryer, dishwasher, cable t.v. ......... everything as stated in the description. It is also comfortably decorated and furnished, and was sparkling clean. It is housed in a complex of approx. 8 other townhouses, in a largely residential neighborhood. No need to worry about raucous neighbors, etc., as the other homes/townhomes are mostly inhabited by locals. Sunset view has a small but nice (unscreened) deck directly overlooking Chincoteague Channel. We enjoyed our coffee here every morning (it is shaded here in the morning as it faces due west) and gorgeous sunsets here almost every night. There is a semi-private dock across from the unit, which has benches and an unobstructed sunset view; a blissful place for an evening, sunset cocktail! The owner (David) is a very nice man, and will be very responsive to any questions or problems you may have. He quickly responds to e/mails and will personally call you to make sure that everything is o.k. with you and your expectations of Sunset Landing.
Chincoteague is a small island and everything is easily accessible from here. We rented this property for the annual Chincoteague Fireman's Pony Swim and Penning event. We easily walked from the property to "Pony Swim Lane", which is one of the main reasons we were interested in this rental. I would estimate the walking distance to be approx. 3/4 of a mile.
