Photos and Description of the Kortright vacation house rental 4 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths.

Lovingly restored/modernized 1840 farmhouse with great light. In the summer listen to the brook as it burbles away, or on the deck and listen to the birds (or your favorite music, piped through outdoor speakers), or take a swim in the pond (20 laps = 1 mile) or just watch the cows. Need more excitement? In spring, summer, fall there are wonderful programs at the West Kortright Center, 20 minutes away, or Oneonta 30 minutes away or in Woodstock or in Cooperstown (both within an hour's drive). In the winter, cross country ski for miles out the back door, or ice skate, or simply watch the fire in the wood burning stove. Downhill ski at Plattekill, Belleayre, Windham, or Hunter (25 minutes - 1 hour). Fine dining in Delhi, just 12 minutes down the road. Or good food to cook at a fine supermarket or a lovely health food store.

The information contained in the listing we found to be completely accurate. Everything worked properly- no broken appliances, etc. The place was clean and neat, not cluttered. The grounds are also well maintained. The brook out front was a favorite spot of ours. We sought out this place as it sounded restful and relaxing and it was. We spent alot of time out of doors on the grounds and on the deck. Although there are several things to do within an hours drive (e.g. Cooperstown) we found that we did not leave the property very often. The local town- 10 miles down the road- is quaint and very typical small town America. We have stayed there twice- during August 2005 and July 2006 and look forward to many more stays.

Great extended stay!

This was our home away from home for three months of contract work in the area, and it played a big role in making the experience enjoyable, comfortable, and relaxing for us. The steam shower was my favorite part of the house, followed closely by the coziness of the wood stove in the living room and all the windows looking out on beautiful countryside! I've been back to my city life for three weeks now, and there are times I'd love nothing better than to return to the peaceful retreat we found here.
Marthe and Frank were always available by phone or email anytime we had questions about the area or about the house, and made every effort to make our stay easy.
I would definitely recommend this home to friends looking for a quiet place to relax and de-stress, and I'm very pleased that chance landed us here for our stay.

The home is well represented as advertised. Nice accomodations for my extended family. Kitchen works well, property is beautiful, nestled on a very quiet road.
