We loved this Chalet and totally recommend it.
You enter onto the middle floor which is open-plan and very spacious. It contains a kitchen, dining area, lounge and an office area. Over the lounge and office the ceiling is double height with huge windows overlooking the woods with two mountains in the distance. Watching the mountains change through different weather conditions was stunning!
Above the kitchen and dining area is the master bedroom. It has a balcony overlooking the lounge and sharing the view. The bed is massive and very comfortable. There is masses of wardrobe space and an en suite with a shower.
Downstairs are two further bedrooms, a bathroom, laundry area and storage. One of the bedrooms is a double and the second has a single bed on one side and bunk beds on the other. The bathroom is a large family one with a shower, two sinks, sauna and the most amazing bath I've ever been in! The bath is double width and more like a hottub. It even fills quickly thanks, I guess, to a huge hot water tank.
The chalet is very clean, beautifully furnished and fully equipped. Tasteful art adorns the walls and there are quality fabrics on the beds and sofas. The kitchen has everything you'd need to cook for a family.
Outside is a drive with plenty of space for cars, a barbecue picnic area and a garden with the same view of woods and mountains. There are a few other chalets around but tall trees screen them off and the property is very private.
Scott, the owner, was a pleasure to deal with and in my experience completely trustworthy.
We stayed there as a couple for a romantic hiking holiday and stayed 11 nights. It felt like incredibly good value: for similar to a hotel room nightly rate we had a huge house with a view and privacy. Sharing the house with more family members would make it even better value.
Nearby are some great hiking trails. We particularly recommend Boulder Loop Trail, Moat Mountain and the Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail up to Mt. Washington. We had a lot of fun at the Whale's Tail waterpark. We ate at the Red Fox which was good and the White Mountain Cider Company Restaurant which has cocktails worth travelling a long distance for and good food (although perhaps not as good as some reviews suggest).
In summary we recommend this chalet without reservation. We would love to return in every season to enjoy this beautiful location!
