Return trip

We returned to MV and Carole's lovely home. It was just how we remembered from 2008. This time we had the unfortunate luck of being there during almost a full week of rain, but still managed to have a lovely time. Even witht hte bad weather we made it to Seth's pond several times. Our kids love that pond!
Again we relaxed and spent a lot of time playing board games, reading, BBQ'ng, etc. We like being up island away from the towns. This year we realized a bunny was living under the deck and the kids loved keeping an eye out for him. We were also visited by a pack of wild turkeys (& a peacock) that wandered through the yard. More horseback riding at the nearby farm. Next year we may sign our daughter up for the week! Also enjoyed a wide selection of freshly baked pies. Since the house is centrally located we hit all the edges of the island (Had some great fish sausages in Menemsha! Fried macaroni at "The Bite"; Lobster at "Home Port").
As last year, the house was clean and well maintained. There was plenty of room for our family of four (our nanny didn't come this year) and visits from family members. Carole is very attentitive to needs and concerns. My wife is a "hot weather" person, but she has become enamored with Martha's Vineyard and she is already thinking about next year. This locale is great for families that are looking for peace and quiet, but within reach of plenty of island activities.
