Comfortable, relaxing, perfect!

We stayed here for a week on our Big Island honeymoon. It was a perfect home base for all the exploration, adventure, and relaxation the island has to offer. Mike and Crystal were friendly, helpful, and available when we needed them, while still giving us our privacy. The suite was clean, tidy, well-stocked, and SO comfortable -- I already miss the comfy bed!
You get a ton of space and amenities, as well as a great central Kona Coast location. You're about 30 minutes from the airport, and from a ton of great beaches, kayaking, snorkeling. You're about 1.5 hours of a fun, scenic drive from Volcanoes National Park. (I don't like to drive much, and even I enjoyed this drive.)
We particularly loved the private, ocean-view lanai. In your first day or two, take a tour of one (or several) of the nearby small coffee farms, and buy some Kona coffee there, direct from the source. Then enjoy a delicious cup of fresh-ground, fresh-brewed coffee outside every morning, watching the ocean and listening to the birds. Life doesn't get much better.
The beach gear and cooler were also particularly great -- no need to rent that stuff, or buy it and then worry about how to get it home. With a supermarket nearby, and full-size fridge in the suite, we could easily pack a picnic on any day trip.
Included use of laundry machines added that extra touch of convenience. Pack with that in mind -- you might even be able to get away with just a carry-on (and avoid the ruinous checked-bag charges every airline wants now).
If you miss your pets, you'll love the sweet, friendly dogs and cat. The dogs adopted us as family right away and greeted us with joyful barks, wagging tails, and doggie kisses. They and the cat kept us company on the lanai. Don't worry, if you'd rather not have canine/feline company, you can just close the lanai gate -- but having new furry friends added to the fun and relaxation for us.
We enjoyed every second of our stay here. We'd recommend it to anyone we know coming to the Big Island.
