Come vacation with the wild horses in the remote, 4WD area north of Corolla! Play or relax on the beach by day and watch the beautiful starry sky on one of three decks by night. Read a good book in the shade of the outdoor gazebo...or watch a good movie...no matter what you choose to do, this is the place for true 'rest and relaxation!'
While the house is located in Swan Beach, a small neighborhood just five miles north of the Corolla lighthouse, you MUST have a 4WD vehicle to access it. The house is only about four miles from where the paved road ends and you drive along the beach. There are plenty of restaurants, shopping, and other activities in Corolla, should you want to venture back to the real world! You'll want to bring groceries with you, but they can be purchased in Corolla at the Food Lion or Harris Teeter.
While our cottage is located four rows off the beach, you can still hear the waves crashing at a distance. This house has an open floor plan with a rustic feel. It has updated appliances and a BONUS room downstairs that sleeps up to four people and has a full bath. There is a screen porch and two large decks that surround three of the four sides of the house. It's truly designed for outdoor living!

About Kimberly Edwards
I grew up in Chesapeake, VA and lived in Va. Beach, VA most of my adult life until my husband and children moved to Harrisonburg, VA in 2011 for my husband to start an insurance office. I have 5 beautiful children. I enjoy sewing, playing the piano, gardening, working out. And I especially love the beach!
Kimberly Edwards purchased this house in 2005
Why Kimberly Edwards chose Currituck
This home was built in 1980. My grandmother and mother had it built in Whalehead, which is in Corolla, NC. Growing up, I enjoyed MANY vacations in this house and hold such special memories. My sister and I purchased a piece of property in the 4WD area as young adults, thinking we would build a home together one day and enjoy it every summer with our families. But when my grandmother and mother were ready to sell the house, the housing market was exploding and the lots that many older homes were on sold for BIG BUCKS. At that time, there was a 'trend' of uprooting some of these older homes and literally moving them to the 4WD area. So they offered to give us the home if we wanted to put it on our property. We were ecstatic!!! Now we still get to enjoy this wonderful beach home every year with our families. We hope you will enjoy it too!
