This spacious 1800 sq ft mountain retreat boasts a two-story cathedral ceiling with a new gas stove fireplace and full service kitchen. It has three levels of enjoyment including 4 bedrooms, 2 recently renovated full baths , 2 TV areas both equipped with VCR/DVD players, and a game room. The game room is equipped with a new 7 ft. Carrom air hockey table, new tournament style Foosball table, many board games, video library and X Box! Located on a large corner lot with 2 decks, front patio, gas grill, and horseshoe pit.

Beautiful Lake around the corner: The Pocono Mountains offers many exciting distractions! Skiers and snowboarders can test their skill at Jack Frost/Big Boulder and Camelback Ski Resorts, which are just a few miles away. Cross country skiing, snow tubing and snowmobiling are other nearby winter activities at your disposal. About Christine and Tom

This is our one and only vacation home. We not only rent it but we vacation here all the time so you're not getting a beat up house that the owners never go too! My kids are 9 and 6 years old and love the outdoors. As a kid I vacationed in the Poconos every summer for 2 weeks and wanted to give our kids the same wonderful memories I had. We also love the winter and spend lots of time skiing, sledding, making snowmen and ice skating in the Poconos. This is truly our place to escape from the craziness of life and re-connect as a family.

Why Christine and Tom chose Locust Lake

We bought this property because it screams the Poconos. We searched for a house that had a mountain feel and this house had it. The whole inside of the house is cedar walls, high A-frame ceiling with a cozy fireplace. The front is all glass so on a snowy night it has the most gorgeous views. We also loved that it was a corner property so there is lots of space for my kids to run around.

What makes this chalet unique

This house is truly what you would want in the Poconos. The location is ideal. We are two blocks from the beach, two blocks from the ski hill and sledding hill. We are 20 minutes from Jack Frost and Big Boulder with restaurants, food stores, and activities for the kids 5 minutes away.

Locust Lake Village offers many activities to keep you busy. Our home is within walking distance from one of three life guarded lakes. You can exert some energy by playing beach volleyball or slow it down with a game of horseshoes, shuffleboard or boccie ball and then grab a drink and a hot dog at the snack stand. Later you can head to the basketball court or the baseball field for some team sports. Finish up the day with a game of tennis under the lights. If this is too much for you then just pull up a chair and soak in the sun at one of the beaches or cast your line for some trout fishing. You can also pack your lunch and head for a wilderness hike through the 21,000 acre Brady's State Game Lands. The community also offers arts and craft activities, movies, bingo and other social events. In the winter you can tryout the community ski slope with T-bar or strap on your ice skates for some lake skating pleasure.

Other Activities: Slot Casino, white water rafting, Camel Beach water park, outlet mall, paint ball, NASCAR racing, tubing, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, amusement park

Golf: Lots of golf in the area. Jack Frost International is 15 minutes from our door!

  • All bedrooms are decorated to give you a cozy mountain feel. They are equipped with pillows, comforters, and sn alarm clock. Bedrooms are located on each floor for more privacy. This house is perfect for two families. The 1st level has 2 bedrooms and a full bathroom with a door that can be closed to separate from the upper levels. The master bedroom is located on the 2nd level with another full bathroom. The 4th bedroom is located on the 3rd level. Two pack-n-plays are available for those with little ones as well as a bed rail for the top bunk safety in the bunk bed room.

What a beautiful home for a family vacation! We loved that your house was nearby to so many activities - the beautiful lake, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, etc. and also great restaurants. Great house, great owners, great value.

We stayed in this home for Thanksgiving with my extended family. It completely fit the bill for us. My kids were thoroughly entertained by the football and air hockey tables. My parents were impressed with the cleanliness of the house.
The owners were very responsive to our requests. From planning the getaway to dealing with the unexpected during our stay, Christine was reachable via email, and cell phone.
It is clear that this house is a second home to the owners. There are so many extras in the house that are not listed in the description and it is clear that it is being maintained with love.
We would happily recommend this property to any other family looking for a getaway.

Great place for kids

The house was great for my family & grandsons. The 7 year old loved the air hockey and foosball and video tapes. The 2 year old twins loved the box full of toys and the baby books and the little picnic table on the deck. My husband I loved being able to walk to the lake with the twins in their strollers (15 mins. to the beach), and the playground and warm shallow lake for them to play in. My daughter and husband and 7 year old loved the nearby attractions. Everyone enjoyed the deck and BBQ - we spent most of our time out there. Weather in August was not too hot, always cool at night, with no bugs.

WInter Weekend Getaway

We arrived to a spotless house. We automatically felt comfortable in this clean, welcoming home where you truly feel you are away at a mountain retreat. It's a great place for kids of all ages. Very well child-proofed with lots of fun activities for children. Our older kids (and us) loved the game room and den downstairs. This gave the kids their own space to hang.
It's a beautiful home where the owners do everything they can to make the renters stay as comfortable and fun as possible.
