Beautiful, Panoramic Diamond Head/Mountain views from our deluxe 1-bedroom apartment located in the heart of Waikiki.
This unit is the largest and the nicest in the building and is fully furnished for your comfort and convenience. It is our pleasure to provide you with a 'home' that will make your Hawaii vacation a most enjoyable experience.
We take pride in our lovely, clean, Non-smoking unit, which boast full kitchen (1 Private Bedroom) and a very large, 9 foot X 12 foot covered lanai where you can enjoy dining or sipping your favorite beverage after a hard day at the beach!
The large sun deck is located on the sixth floor along with a convenience store, laundry, and sauna. There is ample parking in the building.
Our very convenient location is just a short walk of 5 minutes to famous Waikiki Beaches, entertainment, restaurants, shops, grocery stores, the Waikiki Aquarium, Queen Kapiolani Park, International Marketplace and the Fort De Russy Army Museum.
The Bus stops at the corner and you can ride to any where on the island, if you prefer, or go anywhere on the Island. The popular Ala Moana Shopping Center and the new Waikiki Convention Center are about a 10 minute bus ride.
We are walking distance to many great restaurants, a full size grocery store and lots of wonderful attractions that make Waikiki so popular.
A laundry is available in the building, along with sauna, pool, and jacuzzi. A video store and a car rental agency are located on the ground floor of the building.
The Waikiki International Market Place is only a short stroll away. Be sure to visit other attractions very close by, such as the Honolulu Zoo, Waikiki Aquarium. Play some tennis at the lighted courts, go for a nice walk or vigorous jog, or check out an upcoming event at the outdoor Shell Amphitheater all on the grounds of Queen Kapiolani Park.
Secured covered parking is available in the building.
The Bus, which stops within a half block, offers transportation to local attractions, Pearl Harbor, Ala Moana Shopping Center, the Aloha Flea Market, Aloha Marketplace, Hanauma Bay, as well as trips around the Island. A car rental agency, video rental store ,and internet cafe are located on the ground floor.

I was born in Hawaii, my family has lived here for 129 years. My Grandmother was the first telephone operator at The Royal Hawaiian Hotel in 1927.My father was a civilian employee at Pearl Harbor, and was working during the bombing in 12/7/1941(I was not born yet). I have family on all the islands and I live in Hana Maui but also keep an apartment in Diamond Head.
Roger Lane purchased this condo in 2004
I chose this beautiful apartment because of the view from the living room and the lanai off the bedroom. Every day you see Rainbows.
Beside it is the largest apartment in the building, I wanted a comfortable place for families. My family stays here when they come to Hawaii to visit.
It is 1 block from(Starbucks)+ all the restaurants and shopping and 2 blocks from the beach, every one is happy.
It also has a very large pool, jacuzzi and sauna,gym,BBQ's.
And Roberts Hawaii airport shuttle drops you off and pick you up right in front for only $9.00.
I like to run and walk so the Ala Wai Canal the apartment is located on is perfect.
Excellent location, very close to the beach, condo is very well appointed and comfortable for a week or a month. Already planning a return to Hawaii and the condo!
The unit was very clean. It was not air conditioned but that was not an issue after we opened the windows. There was an a/c unit in the bedroom but it broke. It made it hard to sleep without it.
This is the second time that we have rented Roger's place and again we had a wonderful time. The Island Colony is just a great building and Roger's condo was perfect for us once again. This time we stayed for a month and just relaxed on the lanai, went for long walks and were able to leisurely make a meal when we wanted to (no line ups or reservation need). The condo is very clean, well furnished and since it is a corner unit, lots of windows and great air flow from the trade winds. You can walk to everything, no need for a car and the 6th floor store is so convenient but even larger grocery outlets are an easy walk away. We are all ready booked for Jan 2016.
A very nice place to stay with good views and well equiped for a nice vacation at a moderate price. The only negative is the lock box (key) acquisiton which is very difficult to operate and sometimes blocked by a parked car. Other than that the location is perfect for reaching everything you want to do on Waikiki.
We were very happy with the condo as soon as we walked in. Everything was clean , modern and more than we expected. We enjoyed the nice furniture on the lanai. Bed was very comfortable. Security in building was excellent. I used the fitness center almost every morning. Pool and hot tub were great. We used the entire deck and the grills. 5 minute walk to Waikiki Beach and very close to grocery stores and restaurants of all kinds. We will definitely ask for this condo when we come back.
Aloha, we stayed Jan 26 - Feb 9/14. This unit is just as the pictures show it but the pictures do not do it justice, it is better than the pictures. The unit was impeccably clean when we arrived. The large lanai is so great for a relaxing time over a beverage and snack (or a meal) and the view of the golf course in one direction with the pool in the other is just so relaxing. Roger is a great person and we were able to meet him on this trip too. If we had a question or an issue, Roger was prompt if not immediate in getting back to us and he always resolved it to our satisfaction. Roger, the addition of the blackout drapes in the bedroom was great! The kitchen area is very functional with a microwave/convection oven, a good supply of dishes and a nice fridge. The bed was very comfortable as were the couch/bed combinations in the living area. There are extra towels and bedding and there is a great laundry facility on the 6th floor (coin and credit card). The pool and BBQ area on the 6th floor is very nice and the store on the 6th floor is well stocked and very competitive with stores in the surrounding area. We met two other couples that stay in other units at the Island Colony and their comments were "wow" this is really nice. Having a fully separate bedroom is so great allowing one to go to bed undisturbed while others are awake. We saw comments about the garbage chute being smelly but we did not find that to be the case. Also remember, you are in the heart of Waikiki and there is bound to be noises, just take a deep breath and remember you are in HAWAII! The unit is a 45 minute walk to Diamond Head which you cannot miss or take THE BUS for $2.50. Many super bars and restaurants close by and if you like happy hours, they are abundant. We would recommend this place to any and everyone and have. We are already booked for another visit later this year. Mohalo Roger!
The condo is open and spacious with great views of the golf course and mountains. Great running/walking route along the canal just out the main doors. The building is a little older but well maintained. The condo seemed to be renovated and was very clean. It's a couple of blocks from the busy shopping/ entertainment area. Only a concern if you have mobility issues. This was our first trip to Waikiki and we look forward to coming back and renting this condo again.
