One of Ocean City's outstanding architectural landmarks is the New Brighton. It was built in 1879 and is the second oldest house in Ocean City. The New BrigIhton makes a stunning first impression from the top of its distinctive roof line to the open porch with wicker rockers and deep blue awnings. The interior has been restored to retain the elegance of the Victorian era with oak woodwork, stained glass, and elegant furnishings of that period. The house features both open and enclosed sun porches, window seats, a library with floor to ceiling shelves. The New Brighton has many charming nooks and crannies. Each of the seven bedrooms are appointed with antiques: oak dressers, canopy and brass beds, but also offer individual TVs and small refrigerators. The seven bathrooms are spacious and have been beautifully restored with tile showers and baths. This beautiful dwelling is available for large family or multiple family vacations, reunions, or a seminar location at the Jersey shore.

Nearest Ferry: Cape May and Lewes Ferry at 35 Miles
Ocean City is a family vacation town. The New Brighton is centrally located so that it is only a short stroll to the beach, boardwalk, charming shops, bay activities, and local churches. The boardwalk is renown for its family amusements, local food specialties, shops, biking, and walk/running opportunities. The bay area offers jet skiing, kayaking, fishing, whale watching and para sailing. Just inland, one will find world-class golf courses, many antique shops along Route 9, movies, additional fine restaurants, and many places for day trips. Nearby is Atlantic City with shows and casinos, Edwin Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge for bird watching, Belleplain State Forest, Leamings Run Gardens, Cold Spring Village, Batso Village, Smithville Village, Wetlands Institute, Cape May, a gem: the Cape May Zoo, historic Lucy the Elephant in Margate. Finally, the 40 mile drive along Ocean Drive provides miles of seaside resorts and surprises.

What a wonderful time we had at New Brighton!! Magnificent home with all the luxuries...Spent a lot of time in the kitchen, people coming and going...Plenty of room for all,
Having a bathroom for every room is such an added bonus!
Spent many an afternoon on the front porch relaxing, reading, catching up on everyone's plans for the day:)
Would highly recommend this property for everyone!

The house is huge and all of the bedrooms are large. The place has been well maintained and all of the bathrooms have modern appliances. The house is about 4 or 5 blocks from the beach which is an easy walk. If you have a lot of stuff you are taking to the beach then it can be a bit of a hike. The bed in the room in which i stayed made a lot of noise but was comfortible. I would reccomend this place to friends.
