This area of the Abacos is renowned for its fishing - both bone fishing and deep sea fishing. There are several local fishing guides. Snorkeling and scuba diving are also popular; Froggies, the local dive company runs trips to nearby dive sites. Sea turtles and spotted manta rays were our favorite sitings besides the abundant fish life and coral. Dolphins are frequently sited along the way.
Hope Town sightseeing should include a visit to the last hand-wound lighthouse in the Bahamas as well as to the Wyannie Malone Museum. Stroll the narrow sidewalks with the enchanting harbor and candy-cane striped lighthouse on one side, and historic pastel colored houses on the other. Take your rental runabout, or a chartered boat to neighboring Man O'War Cay to see local boat building and craftsmen at work. Continue on to Guana Cay and catch the pig roast or an outdoor concert at Nippers.
