Elysian Fields, resting place of the gods per Homer epic The Odyssey, is available year round. We are located between Manchester, VT outlets and Saratoga Springs, NY charm. Your own private 76-acre farm just west of the Norman Rockwell homestead, where Grandma Moses did her paintings of bucolic patchwork fields. We preserved the 1840s architecture/structure of the original farm house with exposed hand-honed beams, wide board pine and cherry flooring. Included are plumbing (new), heating/AC, and electrical with a fireplace in the living room and a sitting room w/views. This ia a somke-free, comfortable country home w/Queen Anne footed cherry furniture, oriental rugs & fine paintings and prints throughout including the 'gallery,' second stairway & hall to both lilac & azalea bedrooms each w/private bath. First floor master suite with handicap full-bath. Each room has telephone/intercom systems. 3,100 sf are elegantly appointed, plus a 1,400 sf indoor pool room & 300 sf screened porch.

The kitchen eating area has a fantastic view across the perennial garden to the 1/2 acre pond with ducks, blue heron, geese, wild turkey and deer. The fully equipped kitchen with a glass top stove, double wall ovens & adjacent laundry room all have French country tile. Next to the kitchen is the sitting room with a beautiful large bay window overlooking the perennial gardens, flowering alfalfa fields to the pond. The large screened-in porch off the kitchen has views to the pond and large round tables (2) with director chairs. Adjacent to the screened porch is a patio with a gas grill. The swimming pool room is a 'great room' with a 12 ft.x40 ft. heated lap pool with stair access and adjacent recessed jacuzzi spa, ceramic tile floor and base, cathedral ceilings, wall murals, exercise equipment and large tropical plants. The area is humidity controlled with a stall shower & drying area.

Our college reunion group of eight experienced a fabulous stay at Elysian Fields. Each woman had her own beautifully decorated bedroom with t.v., good lighting for reading, and a full bath. Common areas were cozy and spacious, clean and chock full of amenities, such as t.v. plus catalog of dvds and videos, a fully-stocked kitchen, and indoor pool with jaccuzzi. The owners responded with care and were quite helpful, even leaving us a jar of honey produced in hives surrounding the house. Activities in the area kept us busy -- even a monastery with The Best Cheesecake!! The house is eclectic and kitschy, cozy and warm, and perfect for a family reunion, ski trip, or any occasion. We all think very fondly on our time at Elysian Fields and would recommend to anyone.

A wonderful vist to Elysian Fields

Our week at Elysian Fields was wonderful! The gentlemen who own this property made us feel like we were friends coming for a visit. The house was clean and neat and most welcoming and very comfortable. A lovely porch on the side of the kitchen provided a wonderful area for us to share our meals! The kitchen was well stocked (unlike many previous rentals) including a waffle iron! The pool and hot tub were delightful and a wonderful amenity for the few rainy moments we had while there. Our 5 grandchildren had a blast in the pool especially at the end of the day! The yard was neatly mowed and provided areas for the kids to run and toss a ball.........and then there was the pond to explore and find the many bullfrogs!
We were a lovely drive outside of Arlington VT and Manchester as well as Lake George, NY! I would recommend this property to anyone who wants to have time to relax and unwind. And the scenery was spectacular!

For many years, we have spent most of our vacations renting houses. I don't remember a more comfortable, more well maintained, or more well appointed property. We had a fairly large group: 6 adults and 6 kids. All 3 couples had a room with a private bath, and there was still plenty of room for the kids. And the pool was wonderful.

The area, and the landscape around the house, were just beautiful.

We can't wait to go back..
