Hidden away on a private dead end road, this renovated summer cottage is the place to come and relax. The view of the bold ocean is priceless! Enjoy a relaxing summer day on a private beach or just sit on the deck and listen and watch the waves crash on the rocks. This cottage is clean and very bright with all the comforts of home. The nights can be chilly, so you might want to light a fire in the wood stove to warm you up. If you are looking to relax and enjoy a beautiful beach and a view that can't be beat this the cottage for you. The river located a 2 minute walk down the street is great for fishing and boating and when the tide is low you can walk across it to Goose Rocks Beach.

Nearest Airport: Portland at 20 Miles
Nearest Train: Saco at 8 Miles
Nearest Motorway: Biddeford at 8 Miles
Though this cottage is relaxing there is also plenty to do for those who choose to be busy. The neighborhood is a great place for walking and bike riding. It is safe and the traffic is minimal. There is also another small beach within a 5 minute walk. This beach has a few more people but is an excellent beach for small children to meet other children. There are plenty of other beaches such as fortune rocks 5 minutes away to visit (though a parking permit is needed for this beach). This rental property is very centrally located near many other attractions such as Kennebunk port for shopping, dining or sight seeing or even a whale watching tour or deep sea fishing. Kennebunk is only a 12 - 15 minute drive from this property. If outlet shopping is your thing there is Freeport Maine or Kittery only a 45 minute drive away. There are also great amusement parks near by. Fun Town Splash Town USA is a 20 minute ride. There is also many antique stores golf, courses to visit.

  • The bedrooms in this cottage are downstairs. In the hall on this floor there is a chair and 1/2 that pulls out to a twin bed. The ceilings are lower than normal on this level. Up stairs there are two futon couches that are Queen/full. This is open living with cathedral ceilings.

Notes: Dogs are the only pets accepted. There will be a $50 non refundable charge per dog. Two dog maximum. There is a strict lease law in Maine. Dogs need to be on a leash at all times. Your dogs are welcome on the beach in front of the rental property but they are not allowed on the other beach that is with in walking distance of the cottage. Bringing your pet on vacation is a special privilege and we hope you respect the cottage, yard, neighborhood, and neighbors. Dogs need be clean in the cottage and waste be picked up.

Surrounding Cities: The city of Portland is about 30 minutes away and a beautiful old seaside city to visit. Boston is approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes away.

Location: The location of this property is 142 Granite Point Rd. We are off of rte 9 in Biddeford Maine. We are about a 12 minute ride to Kennebunkport. Fortunes Roks beach located in Biddeford Pool is a 5 - 7 minute ride around the corner and Goose Rocks beach in Kennebunkport is also a 7 - 10 minute ride. Goose Rocks beach can also be accessed at low tide by crossing the river at the end of Granite Point Rd. This is a bout a 2 - 3 minute walk. This property is central located near lots of popular southern Maine destinations.

This place is all about the location.
Let me start by saying it was very clean when we took possession mid June 09.
If you cant get enough of looking out on the ocean, this is the place for you. Dont come looking for luxury, but this place lacks on nothing, even the dry firewood was provided as we made use of the fireplace on some damp, cooler days. Great location for beachcombing, but if you want to spend a day on the sand or riding the waves you need to hike or ride a bike down the road to the private beach or drive to Goose rocks (beach permit required).
Note: The pictures on the web site are a bit missleading, it is showing a bed that is non existant. Also a dishwasher was added to the kitchen since the pictures where taken.
Warning to anyone 6' or taller, the ground floor where you find the rooms has very low beams and low door openings (aprox 5'6"), you will soon be reminded. Also, no phone provided on site, bring a cell in case you need to make emergency calls (internet worked fine), actually used this to make VoIP calls. Location and view 10/10
