We fell in love with the beach cottage at first site. It was a gorgeous, warm sunny day and as soon as we pulled up to the cottage and saw the view we knew we wanted to this cottage to be ours. We like that it is a very close walk to restaurants in under 3 minutes!
This property is a very relaxing and special spot. All who visit are amazed by the spacious view. It gives one a real sense of peace and fulfillment to be so in tune with the ocean and nature. Additionally, the cottage is central to everything Aquidneck Island has to offer.
When I stay in this cottage, I feel like I've found a little slice of heaven. When I am away from it, I dream of going back. My husband and I first spent a long weekend there, and returned in August for a week-long stay. I love the privacy, the amazing deck directly on the water, the "they've thought of everything" kitchen and the ability to walk to two great local restaurants on nights when we prefer to stay close to "home." Rainbows appear. Gulls greet you. Sailboats dot the horizon. It is the most peaceful place I've ever stayed, and if you love gazing upon the water, you have an unobstructed view 24 hours a day. This spotless cottage is also just a short drive from local farms, clam shacks and the fabulous Newport mansions, yet far enough away to savor the peace and quiet. The nearby towns of Tiverton and Bristol offer lovely scenery and delicious restaurants and shopping. Deborah is an attentive owner who's always available to offer help or advice. There's something special about this cottage, and we hope to return for more visits whenever our schedules allow. I can't imagine a better place to stay in Rhode Island.
This was our fifth year renting this clean cozy cottage. Before leaving my grandsons were talking about next years visit! The place is well stocked in fact each year I bring less and less from home because each year there are always more additions to look forward too. It is so relaxing to be right on the water where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner on the peaceful deck. Clements Market is a short ride and is a treat to shop at. There is also a farm stand to purchase fresh fruit and veggies daily. A short walk from the cottage is a pier where you can purchase lobsters, steamers and mussels. We spend time at the nearby beaches that are so clean and fun for the boys but they also like to use their boggie boards right in front in the bay. This year we had one rainy day and my daughter and I ventured out to the Newport Winery while my son in law took the boys to a movie. Everyone was happy! The addition of Wi-Fi was a great hit this year. Although the living room is small it dictates family togetherness and enjoyment. If you are looking for a get away retreat or a quiet destination to return to after a day of site seeing I recommend you come for a visit and who knows it might become your tradition too!
The view is breath taking and the breeze from the water is something I enjoyed every day and evening. The house is located in such a quiet spot within walking distance to all Portsmouth has to offer. The vacation we had was our best and a place we plan to have many more memories. The cottage is 20 minutes outside Newport where there are beaches and many things to do. We would suggest this cottage to anyone interested in a truly relaxing vacation located on the water.
This is the cottage I've been searching for my whole life -- right on the ocean. Not just water views: you get the super-relaxing sound of the waves, too. The deck offers privacy and plenty of space for dining or grilling. We left the master bedroom sliders open so we could be rocked to sleep by the sound of the waves and hear them upon awakening. It was like getting a "mental massage" to live so close to the water! Portsmouth is a cute beach town that's not too crowded, and feels undiscovered, but has plenty of restaurants, from Flo's Clam Shack to the more elegant setting of 15 Point Road. Newport is an easy drive away, with its gorgeous waterfront sightsand mansions. This cottage is stocked with everything you would need, and it's sparkling clean. We really didn't want to leave when our visit was over and we are already making plans to return. It's a rare property that "has it all": beauty, peace, proximity to a great tourist town like Newport. We couldn't have been more delighted with our time there! Thanks, Deborah, for your attentiveness, from the time we booked onward. You made it easy to fall in love with the cottage!
We had the most relaxing vacation we ever had! We have 3 young girls and they have never settled into a vacation home as they did this one. The house was clean, inviting and comfortable. The views were amazing! The sliding glass door off the master bedroom was wonderful. We fell asleep and woke up to the gentle sounds of water splashing below. Some of the earlier reviews said they wouldn't recommend the home to families with young children because of the rocks to get to the beach. The girls ages 7, 5 and just 3, mastered the rocks before we did! Yes the beach was rocky, but it didn't deter us from spending most of our vacation in the water just below the home. The kids spent tons of time searching under rocks for crabs. It was just a short drive to sandy beaches and to Newport. We were even lucky enough to catch the America's Cup Sailing Races! We spend many meals in the well stocked kitchen, but when we didn't feel like cooking, we tried out a couple of local restaurants. The food was great and everyone treated you as a local. We can't wait to spend many more vacations at this wonderful home!
Thank you so much for sharing your home. This was an amazing vacation home. It was beautifully kept and very clean. It was well stocked with everything you need. The deck is honestly the best part. You are directly on the water. Couldn't ask for a more relaxing and peaceful view. The pictures that are on the site are not completely up to date but honestly the house was even better so you will be pleasantly surprised as we were. Thanks again and we hope to be returning next year.
