Enjoy our large, rustic, four season, direct lakefront house in Copake, NY. The house is on 2/3 acre of wooded land sloping down to the lake. Large deck overlooks Robinson Pond in Taconic Shores. New enclosed sun-room. Main level: open floor plan with large stone fireplace, living/dining area, TV alcove, with pullout sofa, kitchen and full bath. Upstairs: 4 bedrooms (3 queens, 2 twins), an additional small bedroom with a twin bed, and full bath. The den opens to a screened in breezeway which is between the house and garage. Fully furnished. Two of the bedrooms have window a/c units and there is a 10,000 BTU a/c unit downstairs. Ceiling fans in all rooms. New deck furniture. Rowboat, 2 canoes, and 2 kayaks on property. 8 miles to Catamount, 25 minutes to Great Barrington, and 30 minutes to Butternut. Convenient location in southern Columbia County, NY; in the foothills of the Berkshires. Copake is 5 miles from where Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York meet. We are 2 miles from the Harlem Valley rail trail that runs from Bash Bish to Amenia. Great biking and jogging are all around. Very close to Bash Bish State Park, Mount Washington, and hiking along the Appalachian Trail. The house is located in Taconic Shores a private lakefront community on Robinson Pond. We are 4 houses away from the main beach house with an enclosed swimming area and swings. Lake has excellent fishing. Great area for biking, Within a 40 minute drive are many cultural activities, Summer Theater, Tanglewood, and all that the Berkshires and Columbia County have to offer. Movie theaters are 15 minutes away in Millerton and 25 minutes in Hudson and Great Barrington.

There are numerous excellent Zagat rated restaurants within a short drive to Hudson, Great Barrington, and Egremont. Great location for fall foliage viewing. Winter offers downhill skiing and cross country skiing all within 15-30 minutes. Copake has a public tennis court, baseball fields, and a skateboard park all within 1/2 mile of the house. Copake Country Club is a 9 hole, public golf course is 5 miles from the house with an excellent restaurant.

GREAT SUMMER BREAK!!!!

This house was perfect for a great family getaway. We had two families stay for the week and there was plenty of room for all 8 comfortably. The pictures and descriptions are 100% accurate. It is a bit remote, so do the bulk of your shopping before you get to the house. The lake was quiet during the week, but lots of activity on the weekend. We liked being able to put the boats in from the grassy shore and not have to balance getting in from a dock or walk down stairs. There are lots of fish in the lake, so remember to bring your poles. The owners provided excellent information on the house and the surrounding area. I would definitely recommend this property for rental!
