This modern, spacious home is located in Pemberton Heights in Old West Austin, a National Register Historic District. The Old West Austin Historic District is one of the most sought after areas of Austin to live. The American Planning Association selected the Old West Austin Historic District as one of the ten greatest neighborhoods in America. It received the award based on the diversity and character of the neighborhood as well as the area's continued support of development and sustainability.

Comprised of 3400 square feet, this bright and airy 4 bedroom and 3 1/2 bath home provides all of the comforts and conveniences of a modern home. The entire downstairs is open, which makes it a great place for large groups to gather. Loads of glass throughout, and two fabulous walled-in courtyards. The property is gated with a gas grill, dining table area, lounging areas and an herb garden.

Beautifully and tastefully furnished by the architect-owner, we are fully stocked with high-quality sheets, towels and kitchen equipment. We provide Wi-Fi and cable television with premium channels (including HBO).

Three Bedrooms are upstairs with a large Master bedroom/bathroom down. There is a full sized washer and dryer.

The house is stocked with many condiments, teas, coffee, paper goods, soaps, shampoo and conditioner, hair dryer, iron. Less than a mile away is University of Texas. 2-3 miles away is South Austin, the Central Business District, Congress Avenue, Town Lake and more. It is a short, pleasant walk to Pease Park and Shoal Creek, which is a great place for hiking and biking. Down the street is one of Austin's hippest new restaurant/bars, El Arbol. Also, there is a lovely area of shops and restaurants right down the street on Jefferson and Kerbey Lanes. If you want to rent a bike, University Cyclery (right down the street) has them available.

Feel like an Austinite during your stay

Our party of four had a wonderful weekend stay. Nestled among arts and crafts style homes in one of Austin's older neighborhoods, you'll feel like you live in Austin when you stay here. This house is conveniently located near downtown, a number of excellent neighborhood restaurants (Kerbey Lane is a favorite!) and the great Central Market grocery store on Lamar. We hope to stay here on our next trip to Austin. I highly recommend!

The house was perfectly spacious and everyone was amazed at the finishes and layout. I appreciated that they had organic and earth friendly products in the house and that basic necessities in the house were left for us to use so we didn't have a big waste of condiments and things of that nature. We slept 10 comfortably, and 2.5 baths was perfect for our group. I would absolutely stay here again. You can't beat the location, right off Mopac, easy access to the lakes and to downtown.

Awesome Austin Living

We (family of 5) used to live in Austin and we returned during the kid's April vacation week. This house, location and owners are awesome and made it so easy to instantly slip right in to the comforts and pleasures of being in Austin. Yeah, warning, we are biased and love Austin!!!

The house is very comfortable. We loved the open plan of the first floor. The kitchen is well equipped and had everything we needed. The second floor bedrooms were terrific for us. Beds made sleeping easy -- we have the same beds and mattresses. Closet space and bathrooms were very good. Cozy towels!! And it was terrific to have the washer and dryer on the second floor!!

The backyard is relaxing with a hammock, cool table for outdoor dining (and there is a grill). The front yard -- with a privacy wall -- is also very relaxing. My wife enjoyed having her morning coffee or an end of the day glass of wine there.

The location is terrific and the neighborhood is residential and quiet. The house is close to downtown, UT, South Congress, Zilker, Pease and other parks, Barton Springs, Town Lake, great shops, restaurants (our faves include Ranch 616, P.Terry's, Tacodeli, Julio's, ZTejas, Vespaio, Enoteca among others), Central Market, etc. And there is easy access to suburbia if you want to head that way. Caswell public tennis is very close and has a great drop-in tennis workout during the week -- all good, but ask for Mike :-)

Cycling is terrific as well. I raced in Austin and there is great cycling for all levels. Lots of great shops and rides nearby -- many leaving from various shops on either Saturday or Sunday mornings.

We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Plenty of space for us, great house, great location, great owners, great stuff nearby. We're glad we found this rental.

We had a great stay at the house. 9 of us stayed at the there. Everyone was very impressed with the property. The backyard and indoor spaces are fantastic and well kept. Proximity to activities in Austin is excellent. And the house was stocked with plates, cups, pots, pans, soaps, extra towels and some spices. Beds and furniture were very comfortable.

Incredible!

My girlfriends and I stayed here in April of 2010 for a business school reunion and it was SUCH an incredible weekend. Kiki couldn't be more accommodating and the house is exactly as it is described above. There were 11 of us and we had plenty of room. The decor is modern and gorgeous and I really loved the warm, inviting "feel" of the home.

It is a wonderful place to spend a weekend grilling, playing board games, cards, dancing and simply spending time with friends and family. The house is centrally located, so it is just a quick cab ride from downtown. It is also near a Central Market, so grocery shopping is easy as well as access to several trails for hiking, running and biking nearby.

My friends and I would recommend staying at this house to anyone. It is fantastic. Thanks so much to Kiki for being such a good hostess!
