What a wonderful week. The studio was a perfect
home during my mosaic week. The inspiration of the
lovely garden and the cozy design of the studio fit
perfectly. Thanks for your hospitality.
Claudia's studio is charming - from the beautiful pottery adorning the shelves to the hammered copper counters in the roomy bathroom. The sleeping loft is cozy and comfortable. Set back from the street, the place is very quiet and peaceful, yet close enough to walk to downtown Berkeley and the BART station. Thank you, Claudia, for a wonderful stay.
What a quiet, lovely cottage. Everything you need, full kitchen, wonderful loft bed, shower with good pressure and a beautifully crafted bathroom. I also think it's important to add, this loft isn't a college loft. It's beautiful AND the stairs were crafted perfectly to feel truly safe going up and down. I've stayed at a couple of spaces where that was a concern and the loft felt claustrophobic, not the case here. As someone who travels A LOT and stays in many spaces throughout the bay area, I feel blessed to have found this retreat in Berkeley where my soul rests between meetings. And I made a new friend too. What a gift.
For starters, this place is better than described. The studio is a new construction, gets great light, and has plenty of room for 2-4 people thanks to a clever layout. It boasts a pretty, private lawn (big enough for badminton) and a courtyard space (with basketball hoop that my son loved) It's located on the west side of Berkeley on a quiet, safe street. A great spot to come home to, and from which to rekindle a love of all that Berkeley and the Bay Area have to offer people-wise, food-wise and nature-wise.
I stayed at this studio for two nights. I couldn't find a more accommodating, helpful owner in Claudia. She was super. I was in town because I was throwing a baby shower for my sister and I needed a venue. I wrote to Claudia and asked if we might use the studio for a small, low key party, and I was so overwhelmed by her hospitality. She offered all sorts of help, tables, chairs, the back patio. T he studio itself is well appointed with great light and space, a perfect kitchen, sleeping area, bathroom was beautiful. I would stay again in a heartbeat and would recommend this to anyone. The photos don't do it justice, the location is great, plenty of street parking, close to everything!!
