This sunny Chilmark cottage offers total privacy on your own 5 acres. Located off a small private road, we are minutes to the Chilmark Store, the library, and the Community Center with tennis courts and children's day camp. This simple and appealing cottage has a large living room with a windowed 1/2 wall and doors to both the yard and patio.There is wireless broadband internet and cable TV with a VCR/DVD for those rainy days and restful evenings. There is a rare, and usable, beachstone fireplace, the raised ceiling giving that perfect summer camp feeling. A sundeck fronts all, the abutting shaded patio is ideal for barbecuing and al freso dining. The country kitchen is to the rear, abutting the DR area table that's perfectly-sized for your lobster feasts. This main house has 2 bedrooms, one a queen and one with 2 twins with a door to the brick patio. Within easy calling distance, yet not visible to the main house, is the studio with a queen bedroom, 1/2 bath, and own outside shower.

  • $1450-$2450/week
  • June: first 3 weeks; $1450. plus utilities (heaters)
    June: last week: $1750.
    July: $2350.
    August until Labor Day weekend: $2450.
    September: second week: $1750.
    September: last 2 weeks: $1450.

    We are also flexible with turnaround days in order to facilitate ferry tickets and individual travel plans.
  • We have a one week minimum, but during June and September are open to any number of days more than that. We also give financial consideration for off-season multiple-week rentals and do our best to accommodate turnaround days for ferry ticket availability.

  • There is a full bathroom in the Main House, shower and tub, as well as an outside shower. In the Studio there is a 1/2 bath and an outside shower.

  • There are 2 bedrooms in the Main House, one larger bedroom with one queen and one with 2 twin beds and a door to the outside patio. The Studio, in it's own private setting, has one large room with a queen bed, a half bath and private outdoor shower, 2 doors to the outside, and many windows for a bright and sunny atmosphere. All the bedrooms have new comforters, bedskirts and pillows. There are new area rugs in the the rooms as well.

Notes: TV,VCR/DVD. Deck-partially sunny, partially shaded. Brick patio, small wrought iron patio table with chairs,. Charcoal grill. The laundry is in a separate outbuilding, there is also a clothesline for delicates or beach towels and beach gear. In the Main House there is now a new white and tan floor in the kitchen, the main room floor has been taken down to wood and repainted a light tan, new artwork has been hung, some new area rugs and all new bedding. There are newer stuffed chairs in the Studio as well as new bedding and new area rugs. In regards to the exterior of the Main House, there is a new deck which wraps around to the door by the parking area, all new deck furniture-chaise lounges, chairs and side tables, and a new outside shower enclosure.

Our small road leads one to Menemsha through the woods - no need to drive on the main roads when visiting the docks or fish markets! Allowing 5 minutes to Lucy Vincent Beach, the Chilmark Community Center, and Squibnocket Beach, one feels far removed and yet you are convenient to everything. THE CYBERRENTALS MAP IS WRONG! Follow State Road towards Aquinnah, see Abel's Neck Road 1/2 mile further up-island from the red arrow shown as the house location-the house is 2/10 of a mile down Abel's Neck Road from State Road.
