Perfect vacation - everything was as promised. We've been to Fripp many times, and were able to check the location out prior to booking. Very secluded pool - I was surprised how much the Private Pool thing meant to the family, because we were always content just going to the crowded island pools in prior visits, but this was nice.
Amenity cards aren't available with the purchase of this house, but based on our prior experience, this wasn't a huge deal for us and this was very clearly disclosed to us. Our favorite eat-out place is Johnson's Creek Tavern anyway!! - Just off the island, so no amenity cards are necessary, and much better from our experience than the more expensive on-island restaurants. We would have wanted the amenity cards if we didn't have our own pool, but since we did, no biggie. Also, there's just something sickening about buying the amenity cards (which we've done many times) when you are just buying the right to spend more of your money on the island places of business?? I think in the past we've spent $60-70 per amenity card and then blown hundreds more on the amenities. So, this actually made our vacation much cheaper.
The Bedrooms were nice because they felt like you were able to get away from the noise in the main areas (the kids room may still have had some noise, but I didn't stay in that one). The Master BR and Master Bath was HUGE. We were able to put our baby in a pack & play in one of the closets, with the doors cracked, this worked great, but we commented that if we needed to, we could have added air mattresses, etc to that enormous room.
Loved the proximity to being on the beach, and you have beach at all tides where this house is located. We were amazed how much we used the golf cart all week, and that added a ton to what we'd been missing at Fripp in year's past.
Overall, the ownership just seems to be staying on top of this house compared to others we've stayed at. Carpet was brand new, pool was just one year old, kitchen was truly great, and stocked just the way I'd hoped it would be. I would recommend this house.
