Stay in an architecturally charming house overlooking more than 800 feet of beautiful Union River Bay shoreline with uninterrupted views of Acadia National Park and Cadillac Mountain. The house has four bedrooms, two full baths and a double height living room with fireplace and with panoramic windows to enjoy the eastern exposure view of Union River Bay and Mt Dessert Island.

Just 30 feet from the shore, the house is so close you can hear the water lapping on the beach. Enjoy the loons, eagles, seals and other wildlife right from the expansive deck overlooking the water. The wonderful sights, sounds and experience of Maine are truly at your footsteps! The property includes more than 30 acres of beautiful nature: fields, beach and woods to explore and enjoy. Blueberries are available for picking.

The house is a wonderful example of modern cedar shake. No plain white walls inside, it's fully paneled in a natural pine that really brings home the feeling of being in Maine.

The four bedrooms and two full bathrooms are nicely split between opposite wings extending from the central living room, allowing for maximum privacy. The master bedroom has a queen bed and views of both the water and woods. The other three bedrooms are: single with twin bed, double with separate twin beds and double with two twin beds that can either be combined or separated. Rooms have water views and breezes and separately controlled heat for chilly nights.

The kitchen opens to the living room, is nicely equipped and has its own convenient entrance from the driveway. There are two decks, an expansive one overlooking the water with beach access and a smaller sun-filled one facing the woods. Easy water access from the drive for launching small watercraft.

The property is conveniently located in Surry, 10 miles from the charming village of Blue Hill and 10 miles from the town of Ellsworth not far from Bar Harbor and just 20 miles from Acadia National Park. Fresh lobsters are only a mile down the road. Blue Hill is a center for arts and music, and the gateway to the Penobscot Peninsula communities and the Deer Isles.

The area offers opportunity for gallery hopping, fine dining, swimming, bicycling, hiking and cruising. Ellsworth has movies, great stores and supermarkets, cafes and banking. You'll also find several outdoor shops happy to rent bikes, kayaks, fishing gear, wet suits, whatever you need to enjoy what Maine has to offer. Don't miss the LL Bean outlet! Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park are a short drive from Ellsworth and feature endless recreation activities, wonderful hiking, and great places to eat and explore.

1 queen, 5 twins, 1 sleep sofa. One of the rooms with twin beds usually has the beds pushed together to form one king. WARNING: The house is well equipped for Maine living and all that an experience in secluded Maine has to offer. However, it is a personal home and not a hotel or B&B and thus visiting this home is to live like everyone else in this part of Maine lives. There is no dishwasher, no air-conditioning or cable TV. Trash needs to be driven to the dump. Maid service is an additional option. If you're looking to have a vacation where you can let everyone take care of everything for you, a resort stay in Bar Harbor may be more to your liking. But if you want a house to call home for a week, a spectacular view and a cozy fireplace and really experience Maine, this house may suit you fine. We like it!

We'e been going to the Surry/Blue Hill area for years.
If you looking for peace and tranqulity this is the place for you.
