Photos and Description of the Chilmark vacation house rental 4 bedrooms 2 baths and outside shower, sleeps 8

This contemporary architectural gem is shaped as a partial arc, allowing maximum privacy. On the ground floor are all 4 bedrooms, the dining room, the kitchen, and 2 full baths. On either end of the house are 2 bedrooms with a full bath between them. One end is comprised of an exceptionally spacious king bedroom, full bath between and a bedroom with 2 twins. On the far other end are the 2 remaining bedrooms, one larger bedroom with a queen, and a bedroom with 2 twins, again a full bath between them. Linens and house towels are provided. In the center of the house is the dining room, with a seating area, and a door to the partially covered porch, as well as abutting the kitchen. The second story is comprised solely of the living room and railed deck. This living room is accessed by a charming spiral staircase, here one finds the TV and VCR, as well as the fireplace Please note that both Google Map and Yahoo Map are wrong- Black Point road goes south off Quansoo Road, ending at the beach

Swimming, walking, sunbathing, and among the best surf fishing spots on Marths'a Vineyard. Chilmark Community Center, Chilmark Flea Market, kayaking or canoeing on Black Point Pond, the Farmer's Market, Grange Hall movies, comedy shows, antique and and craft shows. Rocking on either Alley's Store or the Chilmark Store porches with ice cream or the newspaper, art galleries, Menemsha fishing village and eateries, are among the many Up-Island activities offered our visitors. Important: Please note that both Google Maps and Yahoo Maps have the location of Black Point Road wrong- it actually goes south off of Quansoo Road and ends at our ocean beach-it does not go east and west as shown on both of their maps.

Additional information about rental rates

  • $2500-$4000. All rentals have 2X weekly private trash pick-up, deducted from security deposit.
  • June: $2500.
    last week of June into July: $3000.
    July: $3500.
    August until Labor Day weekend: $4000. week
    September: second week:: $3000.
    Sept: last 2 weeks: $2500.
  • We are flexible as to arrival and departure days in order to accommodate availability of ferry tickets. Financial consideration is given for multiple-week rentals.
    There will be private trash pickup 2x weekly, to be deducted from security deposit -in 2009 the rate was $34. per pickup of 3 barrels.
    I am happy to help with recommendations for interim cleaners, babysitters, and cooking assistance.

Black Point Beach key, Tisbury Great Pond : Tenants receive a key to Black Point Beach, an exclusive private association beach on the south shore, 1/2 mile further down your small private road. Black Point Beach and Quansoo Beach abut one another, and allow swimming, walking, sunbathing, and fishing along 1 MILE private Atlantic beachfront. Kayaking, motor boating, crabbing, and sailing in Tisbury Great Pond and Black Point Pond are impassable. Only holders of keys ever have access to this removed and startlingly beautiful part of the island. Tenants may also acquire passes to both Lucy Vincent and Squibnocket beaches. The outside shower, a rounded enclosure, is conveniently located on a deck connected to the storage shed, where one finds a large assortment of beach chairs, as well as room for beach toys and fishing equipment. There are 2 phone lines, one for Internet/fax access when one must link with the outside world. This home offers the tenant a private world of one's own, as well as the idyllic beach of one's dreams.
