Enter onto a wrap-around deck at the main level where you will find the living room, beautiful stone fireplace, dining area and fully equipped kitchen. Travel upstairs and discover a bedroom, bath and loft that holds games to delight you and a cushioned nook that will invite you to read or even just indulge in a little daydreaming. Venture downstairs through the kitchen where you'll enter into the large master bedroom with private entrance onto one of the beautiful wrap-around decks and the hot tub area. This bedroom has a king bed with pillowtop mattress and luxury linens. Great honeymoon location. Families also love this mountain cabin nestled in the woods. Cabin equipped with high speed Internet.

The Alexander Log Cabin is located Just 1.5 miles away from the entrance to Ghost Town which is also the road that leads up to Cataloochee Ski area. Cherokee with Harrah's Casino is located 17 miles away. If you are an outdoor enthusiast, Bryson City with the Nantahala Outdoor Center is just 30 miles away and offers whitewater rafting, lake and river kayaking, fishing, biking and hiking. This mountain cabin is only about 10 minutes to the southern entrance to the Smoky Mountain National Park where you may take a 52 mile spectacular drive to Gatlinburg and then continue on to Pigeon Forge and Dollywood. In the opposite direction you may travel the breathtaking Blue Ridge Parkway. If you are not in a hurry you may wind your way along the Parkway to reach Asheville and the Biltmore Estate which is 35 miles by way of the interstate. Nearby you will find horseback riding, golfing, miniature golf, waterfalls, skiing and tubing.

Best Christmas in the Best Home in Maggie Valley

The Alexander Home in Maggie Valley is truly a home away from home. This was our first Christmas to ever be away from home. It was something we always wanted to do but was a little nervous about the kids waking up Christmas morning and it not feeling like home. That wasn't the case at all. What you see on the webpage is exactly the way it is. When we entered the house we felt like we had all been there before, but that's just because we looked at the pictures and did the virtual tour before we left. The kids are 18, 12 and 7. The loved it. Everyone had there own space. My 18 year old took the loft and made it his own with an air mattress. My 12 year old daughter and 7 year old son were in heaven with the guest room of their own and their own private bathroom. My husband and I were like two kids with our room. Either late at night or early in the morning we would sneak out to the jacuzzi. Christmas morning was wonderful! The kids coming down the stairs, the fire in the fireplace was just picture perfect.

The home is so easy to get to and in the perfect place to get to everything we wanted to do. Maggie Valley has some great specialty shops and it is so close to Waynesville's great little historic downtown shopping district. The restaurants were also very good.
The kids loved to the snow tubing just 3 minutes away. We also went to Catalochee Valley. A must see!

Perfect! Is the way I would have to describe the Alexander home. We can't wait to go back. We know it will be just as pretty in the summer.

Alexander Log Cabin

We spent a week at the cabin in early October. The cabin is everything that is advertised and very nice. It has all that you need for a wonderful time. It is very clean and everything is in really nice shape. The cabin is only a couple of minutes from town, but seems a world away. My wife and I couldn't have had a better time. A great value - Thanks Diane!

Alexander Log Cabin review

We have enjoyed our visit this week. It was a very convenient location to many things we did (shopping and attending the Folkmoot Parade in Waynesville, riding the train in Bryson City, visiting Cherokee, and visiting the Pisgah National Forest Cradle of Forestry/Sliding Rock/Looking Glass Falls near Brevard). We also enjoyed several dinners on the deck and the rocking chairs and hot tub were a nice finish to our days of shopping and exploring. It has been about 40 years since we have been in the Maggie Valley area and we were very pleased with our visit. By the way, Bogart's in Waynesville and Joey's Pancake House in Maggie Valley were great places to eat!

Quiet relaxation

A nice, clean place to stay. Easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway and many other attractions. After some recent health issues, we were looking for a quiet, laid back get away. We were not disappointed. Plenty of room to give "privacy space", a nice hot tub, and a relaxing deck to enjoy a morning cup of coffee on.

Great Getaway

This was our second stay at Alexander Homestead and it was just as great as the first. It truely is a jewel. As soon as you walk in the door you feel right at home. The cabin is soo clean. Its location is very convenient to several attractions. Its also nice to talk to a owner who really seems to care about their home and their guests. Thanks Diane. We are already loking forward to our next stay in this cabin. I would certainly recommend this cabin to anyone who is looking for a great place to stay.
