This charming country home sleeps 17. The house is nestled on two acres of land and very secluded from the road and neighbors on a lovely wooded lot. Step inside the front door to an adorable Living Room/Dining Area with a working fireplace. The eat-in Kitchen has a dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker and toaster oven. The house has cable TV (4 TVs), VCR and DVDs, as well as a stereo. The wonderfully large Great Room with a cathedral ceiling is flooded with light and opens to a wrap-around deck complete with gas grill. At one end of the house is the large, private carriage room/bedroom with its own bath and upper deck. The laundry area has a washer/dryer for optimum convenience. Another special feature is a private sand-based volleyball court alongside the house and just around the corner of the house is the outside shower to wash away the sand.

Numerous beaches are the focal points of Cape Cod. Our house is just over 1/2 mile from the ocean, between Corporation and Mayflower Beaches. Not to be outdone are our restaurants and shops, the perfect antidote to a cloudy day. Of course, the Cape is popular for its golf and biking. A historic pathway winds through the property, by an ancient cemetery, through the woods to the Cape Playhouse (owner of the house), Cape Cinema, Cape Cod Museum of Art and Theatre Marketplace.

The scenery is fantastic! The surrounding woods offer a peaceful oasis - a perfect place to unwind and relax. The house has five queen beds, five twin beds and one double futon. Four bedrooms have a queen bed. One bedroom has 3 twin beds. The half bedroom (an open loft over the Great Room) has 2 twin beds. There are 2 bedrooms on the first floor and 2 1/2 bedrooms on the second floor. The Carriage Room is attached to the house but separated from the other bedrooms by the Great Room. It is a spacious room located on the second floor. It has a queen bed and a double futon. It also has a twin mattress. The room features its own mini-fridge as well as a private upper deck. Located in Dennis (at the center of Cape Cod), all of the Cape is just a short ride away. You won't want to leave!

Our family reunion was a great time. The separate carriage room over the garage held the teenagers and their noise away from the others. Close to the beach and Dennis Village. The house was a fine rental. Not so upscale that you were uncomfortable just living there. Clean, large, fun. Will consider going back again if we vacation on Cape Cod again.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children

Not what it's cracked up to be....................

I should have known there'd be a problem when I wasn't allowed to view the property in person this spring. We were denied access because 'the staff' hadn't gotten the property ready for summer rental yet. We held our opinions until we actually stayed there and then all my fears came true. Upon inpsection of the bed I'd sleep in, the first problem was the stained mattress pad..yuck. Thank goodness I brought my own linens, quilt, mattress pad & sheets. This property is simply not maintained.The furniture is falling apart or filthy. The futons are not fit to sit on, let alone sleep in. When we opened the bread box draw we found mouse poisoning pellets--now thats' 'family friendly' We nailed it shut so the 3 yr olds couldn't get access. The outdoor shower didn't work until we had to call the 'staff' to fix it on Tuesday. This place is fit, for maybe, a bunch of college guys who could care less about their accomodatiuons. I own a summer rental in Dennis and am ashamed to think a summer landlord could offer a dump like this for such an incredible amount of money. Renter beware. This dish drainer was dirty and at least 6yrs old, there was no handle ont the refridgerator door. For a place that supposedly sleeps 22-the fridge was good for 2-4 people. The only thing these landlords got right was there was enough hot water for 18 people. The ourdoor lights stayed on all night long. The beds were old and uncomfortable. The basement stunk of mold & mildew-no dehumidifer running. Various lamps did not work. Awful & totally uncomfortable

We stayed at this property during a week in July with two other families. We were very disappointed. Once reading the description of the property everyone was excited for a great week at a great house.That was not the case.The house was in need of some major work. The volleyball court was basically a sand pit with a beat-up net. The outdoor shower didn't work. The deck was not set-up for outdoor dining or entertaining.The kitchen is not laid out for several people to be cooking/preparing at once The furniture was very musty and stained.It is definitely not worth the money we paid for it.
