Private common area within a very short walk; includes additional waterfront, firepit, community dock, boat launch, and small rocky beach. Dig for clams, harvest mussels, and go lobstering. A rare peninsula property! This home is in a neighborhood of families. There are tree lined dirt roads to walk with limited or no cars!

Living Room/Great Room has a 46 inch LVH/HD TV with surround sound.

My husband and I rented the Point House as a refuge during our sons' graduation from Bowdoin College this May. It is a lovely, serene spot. These words don't do it justice. The quiet is amazing. We loved it. The house is well provisioned, in fact better provisioned than most homes we have ever rented. Brian and Christine have thought of everything. The beds are excellent, the linens lovely, the other household items great. Brian provided us with a lot of information about the area - we felt very at home. If you have the opportunity to rent this property, don't hestiate. It's four bedrooms are ample in size and the house will easily hold 8 people. We will return. Thank you Brian and Christine!

The Best Home and Renters We've met in 18 years!

What a GORGEOUS set of homes. We stayed in The Compass House which is located on Orr's Island (connected by a bridge... whew!) and just loved it.
The Compass House is quiet, private home but just minutes from shops and about a half hour from Boothbay Harbor, Freeport and 45 minutes from Portland. We had beaches, shops and hiking all within a short drive.
About the home: Just immaculate. They give you EVERYTHING... from lobster pots/crackers/butter dishes to beautiful decor and linens/towels. We've rented other homes in Harpswell and were so disappointed by the upkeep; Brian and Christine take care of these themselves and their pride/effort really shows. Ocean views from every room, and a kitchen to die for.
About the landlords: Super sweet, younger couple who own two oceanfront homes that they rent in the summer. They live about five miles down the road and called before coming over to cut the grass to be sure it was convenient. Just great people. Oh and the best part? We got our security deposit returned to us within five days of returning home!
Overall: Don't hesitate... get it if you can. Fits 8 very comfortably and was perfect for us and our adult children and grandchildren.
