Great scenery and very nice cabin. It really lives up to its secluded /remote billing. We really enjoyed the weekend!
The cabin was great and well stocked. Kids enjoyed playing in the stream and it was cool to be able to drive through the stream! Thanks for the fun!
We had a great stay. 3 nights in September fishing nearby trout streams. The space was clean and comfortable. We spent each night off the water around the fire and hot tub. De soto is a close drive but the cabin does feel secluded. I would recommend this cabin and looking forward to staying again!
We had an amazing long weekend at this clean, lovely and secluded cabin. Our cell phones worked fine, although we tried not to let too many people know that! Joel was very helpful and responsive. The kitchen had everything we needed, wood stove kept the cabin toasty warm, and the hot tub with gazebo roof was quiet and relaxing - perfect in light fall rain. The fall leaves were gorgeous, as was the scenery along the Mississippi River. A beautiful spot for a weekend away from the world!
really nice / peaceful / great hot tub / i would certainly suggest it as a great getaway to relax
The cabin was a great setting for a weekend getaway from life! Our cell phones didn't work, which I found to be a huge plus! My four sons really enjoyed playing along the creek. I enjoyed the powerful jets and relaxing lighting in the hot tub! We had three adults, four boys and one dog and the size was perfect. The cabin was also clean and comfortable...next time I will bring my own towels for cleaning in the kitchen (the rags had lots of lint/hair on them.) It was very nice to be able to bring our dog with us. He had a great time! We are looking forward to scheduling our next weekend getaway.
Went with 3 girls and had a great girls weekend at this cabin. It was cozy and warm once we got the fire going which took a while because the firewood was wet. Would suggest you bring some dry kindling. The hot tub was awesome even though the weather went from 50's on Friday to only 15 on Sunday morning. Didn't matter because the hot tub was nice and hot. A few suggestions though if you go in winter, bring an extra large rug or two to put down over the ice. It was very icy and there was no salt and you have to walk uphill to get to the cabin and over ice to get to the hot tub. It also would be nice to have better comfortable furniture for watching a movie. The 2 rocking chairs are not that comfy. And if you sleep upstairs, beware the critters up in the ceiling are very noisy at night. Whatever they were, squirrels or mice, they were running back and forth constantly. We would definitely go back. Fall would be a really nice time to go.
Very nice secluded cabin with plenty of amenities that will make you cut back and relax. The brand new hot tub (saw the 2014 owners manual in the closet) is an absolute game changer. I went with 5 other people having in mind we would fish, ski, and possibly find a shooting range and we never even left the cabin. Once u cross the creek to get to the cabin you feel at rest in your own little personal castle surrounded by a moat. Being there's a creek in the driveway u might have to put your vehicle in 4x4 mode otherwise carry in your supplies, probably a 100 yard walk. Would definitely recommend this place for all looking for a relaxin retreat from the fast paced world... You will also get a break from your cellular device, because there is no tower. Thanks for the rental Joel!
