Renovated in 2003 beach house on Cape Cod Bay; views of Provincetown to the north, sand bars at low tide, walking distance to Provincetown bus shuttle and local variety store; 2 miles to Highland Light and links, and ocean side beaches. House has been renovated and furnished to accommodate second floor living in a wheel chair. Beach wheel chair provides access to dune surroundings and beach; large bay side deck and back side patio. Patio and beach furniture provided. Mini ramps allow wheel chair access to beachside deck; most doorways are 32-in - 36-in wide; Inclined platform lift connects driveway level to second floor; emergency access and egress provided by beach wheel chair; guests are expected to leave home in same condition as they find it. No linen service provided.

Truro is located close to the tip end of the Cape. 70% of its area is reserved land within the Cape Cod National Seashore. It's bayside waters are warm in the summer, it's oceanside waters stay cool and refreshing. Access to beaches is controlled by town or seashore issued parking permits. Several bike and hiking trails give a woodland experience to those who enjoy such pursuits.

Outside shower; Beach wheel chair provides beach access as well as emergency exit from upstairs level if power fails or if lift fails; inclined platform lift carries wheelchair and seated user to living level; Roll in shower with built in bench and hand held shower unit offer independent bathing to users who are able to transfer to shower seat and use upper body. Lower level bathroom with traditional tub and shower has comfort height toilet and grab bars, but is not ideally suited for all wheel chair users as is the upstairs bathroom.

We had the good fortune of staying here during the July 4th week. It was an amazing. Everything was top-notch... especially the handicap accessibility. This vacation home provided a wonderful beach experience for our handicapped son who enjoyed himself tremendously. We could not have asked for more... Hoping to return again in the future..

Outstanding Wheelchair Accessible rental

Terry and Mary's home is a beautiful place to spend a week, or more! The location is exquisite and the home is comfortable, charming and fully loaded. But for us the best part of this property is that this is the only truly handicap accessible rental property we have ever found on the Cape. Even the beach is accessible by the beach wheelchair that is included with the home. But our disabled guest preferred to sit in comfort on the deck overlooking the beach and ocean, with shade and drink close at hand. My only reluctance in writing this review is that I don’t want this secret to get out and our weeks won’t be available!
