Relax in a warmly and attractively remodeled air conditioned cottage with a large deck on Lake Michigan. Great kitchen to work and visit in while preparing meals. Open to a comfortable great room. New, high quality beds. Located in a quiet country setting - Lake Michigan to the west, and farmland to the east. Beautiful lot includes numerous wild flowers and some old-growth forest. Cross a wild ravine over a wooden foot-bridge to a breathtaking view of the Lake. The well-built stairway with 70 steps to the beach includes a large observation deck half way down with benches built in. Wonderful spot to enjoy sunsets over the lake through the trees, or curl up and read your vacation novel. Sandy beach offers relaxing sunbathing, opportunity to play in the waves, or long, peaceful shoreline walks. Stairway and 140 feet of beach frontage are shared with one other cottage. Charter fishing on Lake Michigan at nearby ports. Great fruits/veggies in area farms in season. Go berry picking!

Nearest Motorway : US 31 & Fruitvale at 8 Miles

Near the paved Hart-Montague bike trail. Noted for bike riding in the spring, summer and fall, and cross country skiing in the winter. 8 miles north of Whitehall/Montague which has a beautiful harbor, very good restaurants, small-town atmosphere, fun gift shops and a 4-screen movie theater. A park near the harbor offers a gazebo with summer concerts and farmer's market. There is a small theatre in town with performances from Blue Lake Music Camp. The Music Camp itself (16 miles away) offers regular musical concerts of high quality throughout the summer. Michigan Adventure Amusement Park, also within 16 miles offers great fun for the young (or brave and foolish!) Cottage is 15 miles south of Silver Lake Dunes which offers huge, wonderful sand dunes and dune buggy rides. Pentwater is 25 miles north. A number of great golf clubs are in the area, including Thoroughbred Championship Golf Club.

Relaxation on Lake Michigan

We had a wonderful vacation at the cottage. The setting is fantastic. The cottage is lovely - open spaces in the living area/kitchen, wonderfully appointed kitchen, comfortable bedrooms and living area; even the bathroom is lovely! The view from the deck makes it the perfect place for meals or that morning cup of coffee. Campfires on the beach are easy with the provided firewood and campfire ring/seating on the beach. Don and Sue were very welcoming, the neighbors friendly and time on the beach the perfect antidote to "regular" life. We hope to come back soon.

A Vacation to Remember

We're still talking about the wonderful time we spent at this cottage for our summer vacation. The lake and the beach were clean and beautiful. The cottage had everything and the beds were very comfy. It is private but not isolated. It is also just a short drive to little grocery shops in town in case you need to pick up an extra something for dinner. The grandkids swam all day and the fires in the fire ring on the beach at sunset were magical. Even just sitting on the benches half the way down the stairs to the beach was relaxing. From beginning to end, our experience with the owners and this website were very pleasant.

Nice cottage

This is a very nice cottage that is completely updated. My wife and I along with our two young children enjoyed our week very much and spent a lot of time time on the beach. A quiet setting that is very relaxing. The washer and dryer along with the a/c was very helpful with young kids. A good value and a great cottage for a family.

Exceeded Expectations

Our friends and us thoroughly enjoyed our time spent here - it was the perfect size cottage for two couples to enjoy! We found everything to be just as pictured and expected, and it was well- appointed with a variety of items to make our stay very comfortable.

We used the cottage as a home base to travel around and take in a variety of Michigan's amenities. We walked the beautiful beach, visited a winery, went antiquing, and even took a day trip to Mackinac Island! There were a variety of places to get some great meals, including The Old Channel Inn (the Walleye and Perch were outstanding), and our time in Michigan ended way too soon......

We hope to visit here again - as we were very impressed with Don and Sue's attention to detail. They were great to work with and only wish we could have met them in person. Thank you both for providing such a wonderful retreat!

Great place and Great Price

The house is all updated and has all the extras. Especially nice is onsite washer and dryer. The stairs to the beach can be a little rough if you have a little one or are a little older, but is well worth the walk to the beach. The view from the kitchen window is breath-taking, especially as the sun sets. It was a great experience for my family and I would recommend this location to anyone.
