Close to Beach and Public Transport:
Gladlands Avenue is right off Surfside Rd. The Surfside Road bike path is well traveled with bikers, walkers, and rollerbladers.
Surfside Beach is a great family destination for picnics, kite flying, beach games, and surfcasting. Accommodations include lifeguards, a snack bar, parking, restrooms, and cold showers. The beach is at the end of Surfside Road, a .6-mile ride by car or on the paved bike path or 10 minute walk.
Beach and town are both easily accessible by via NRTA shuttle bus in the summer.
You can drive, bike or walk to town and stop along the way at a sandwich shop or outdoor café.
