Active Sports:
Kayaks and canoes can be launched at the foot of the street. Small boats can be launched at nearby town facilities. Cycling is delightful in Padanaram and the larger South Dartmouth area. Nearby beaches invite ocean swimming.
Auto Touring:
There are delightful back road trips to historic Massachusetts south coast villages. The old roads pass by farms, stone walls, Quaker meeting houses and historic country stores. In addition, the beautiful Rhode Island countryside is only a 30-45 minute drive. Maps and suggested road trips are available at the house and at Village shops.
Ferry and Boat Rides:
From the New Bedford pier, one can take a sightseeing tour of the active New Bedford fishing port including its world-famous hurricane wall. Also from New Bedford there are day trips available to the quiet, unspoiled tiny island of Cuttyhunk. And, there is ferry service from New Bedford to Martha's Vineyard if one wishes to take a special day trip.
