Labor Day Weekend

  • 5 of 5

We loved it! The photos do not do the cabin justice. The kitchen is perfect to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner, the upstairs bed was sooo comfortable and the cabin was decorated so nicely. Everything was so wonderful and we were so sad to leave. It was so peaceful, the hammock was so relaxing. Sitting on the front porch in the early hours was so nice. We especially enjoyed hearing the river. We will definately be back. The road up was such an adventure and we are so glad we brought the Tahoe! This cabin is so relaxing and so romantic. You feel like there is no one else around. It was so difficult to actually venture out and visit the area because we didn't want to leave the cabin.

Cozy nook in the woods

  • 5 of 5

My husband ,myself and our two dogs stayed in The French Broad Cabin for the month of March. We had a fantastic month! Loved everything about the cabin. So cozy and cute. I cried when I knew we had to go back up north. Huge stone fireplace was fantastic. Hot tub very soothing with the bird calls surrounding us. The drive up the driveway as long as you take it real slow. There is one scary curve. Cabin is in great location. Close to stores in Weaverville and also great river side drive into Asheville. There are great dog walks around the area with lots of hiking. French Broad greenway is great. Cabin is clean and we had everything we needed there. Sitting out on the deck, listening to the river below and the train whistle was way cool for us. Next time we hope to come in summer or fall. Can't say enough about this cute little nook. Thanks Pete and June!!

Wonderful, charming cabin!

  • 5 of 5

My fiancé and I had an amazing few days at the French Broad River Cabin. The listing was very accurate and we loved how clean and well-kept the property was. The hot tub was perfect and so relaxing. We visited the Biltmore, Downtown Asheville, French Broad River and Black Mountain during our stay. The only thing we had a little trouble with was the upstairs bed. There seemed to be a sunken in area and a ridge in the middle of the bed so that one of us slept rather pleasantly while the other couldn't quite get comfortable. Other than that we loved the cabin and have recommended it to others!

Wonderfully comfortable and perfect!

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriend and I take an a long weekend trip to Asheville early every year and this was our second year in a row at this wonderful cabin. This is also the only cabin we've booked more than once! It's incredibly homely and comfortable. June and Pete go out of their way to make this cabin (and our stay) wonderful. The cabin is always clean and provides everything you need for your stay. We really enjoy the location as it's close to stores and restaurants, but far enough away to let you feel secluded. Nothing beats laying in bed and hearing the train go down the tracks on the other side of the French Broad.

Exactly what we hoped for on our Anniversary

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent our 8th anniversary here for four nights and could not have been happier with the cabin. The location is absolutely fantastic. We were secluded (although there is another rental a short drive up the road from the cabin we NEVER saw another person during our entire stay) but all of Asheville and the Parkway is very easily accessible.

The hot tub was already hot when we arrived, and the fireplace was perfect. I did not realize that we would have to provide our own firewood, but a five minute drive to Lowes solved that problem. Everything was very clean but we came across quite a few little gray bugs (we are in the woods after all) that were totally harmless.

The drive up is steep and uneven. I would not have wanted to make it in a Toyota Corolla, but our little crossover SUV did just fine.

Outside temperatures were in the thirties during our stay and the propane heater downstairs had no problem keeping up. It was noticeably warmer upstairs, and we ended up preferring to sleep there.

We loved having Roku and Netflix on the TV upstairs (though we only used it once), and the record player with stacks of vinyl was a treat. The kitchen was more than enough for our needs and we got a lot of use out of the maps and brochures provided. The Looking Glass Creamery and Pisgah Brewing are MUST SEE places if you stay here.

We thoroughly enjoyed our romantic weekend and hope to do it again next year!

Stop Considering and Book!

  • 4 of 5

This cabin was extremely cozy. I read all the reviews prior to booking and I almost didn't book because everyone made the driveway seem super bad and scary. I admit, your first trip up to the cabin is nerve wracking, but as you continue to drive it...it is a piece of cake. We loved the decorations, the warmth of the fireplace, the hot tub and something I think many overlook...the claw foot tub! It was a treat soaking in the tub. The movie and game selections they have are fun. It was nice to have Netflix on the TV. Although, this was our honeymoon and we didn't watch too much TV. We mainly enjoyed the fireplace, hot tub, and playing games. The only reason I didn't give this rental 5 stars is for reasons that aren't really bad. It was Christmas, so a neighbor must have received a new gun. Christmas day and night we heard gun shots for hours. But this is in no way a reflection of the owners. Also, in case you rent and notice any bugs...they are stink bugs and won't hurt you. There were several in the cabin throughout the week, but it wasn't bad and it again is in no way a reflection of the property being unclean or the owners. I advised the owners upon our departure and June assured me they would contact their exterminator. We enjoyed our honeymoon here and didn't want to leave! Stop considering and just rent this place. You won't regret it.
