Labor Day Weekend

  • 5 of 5
We loved it! The photos do not do the cabin justice. The kitchen is perfect to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner, the upstairs bed was sooo comfortable and the cabin was decorated so nicely. Everything was so wonderful and we were so sad to leave. It was so peaceful, the hammock was so relaxing. Sitting on the front porch in the early hours was so nice. We especially enjoyed hearing the river. We will definately be back. The road up was such an adventure and we are so glad we brought the Tahoe! This cabin is so relaxing and so romantic. You feel like there is no one else around. It was so difficult to actually venture out and visit the area because we didn't want to leave the cabin.

weekend get away

  • 5 of 5
Great cabin for a weekend get away. The view of the French broad from the front porch was great in the morning and evening time. Very close to downtown Asheville and surrounding areas as far as the grocery and interstate. Would recommend to a friend and would return for another trip.

Beautiful cabin!

We had a wonderful time. What a beautiful rustic cozy place to spend a few days. We enjoyed the amazing fall colors driving on the Blue Ridge Parkway for miles! The Biltmore Estate is a must also. We absolutely loved our time in North Carolina!

Awesome Adventure

  • 5 of 5
First I want to thank the owners for sharing their cabin with us. I read in other reviews that the road up to the cabin was a little on the steep side but that any vehicle would be able to make it. It is true, but I would suggest arriving there during the daylight so you can see where you are going. After some maneuvering, I finally got my car parked by the cabin (and there it stayed, we used my mom's SUV to do any site seeing). Once in the cabin, the charm and quaintness just fell over all of us. Everything was even more than I had imagined. The cabin was clean and well equipped. As I planned this trip like I would a "family camping" trip, we did not want for anything. We all enjoyed the peacefulness of the property and got some much needed relaxation. Of course the dogs simply LOVED chasing each other up and down the front lawn (I swear you could hear them laughing or maybe it was us laughing at how silly they were). The views from the front porch are quite breathtaking. All in all, if you want to be close to nature with some of the creature comforts, this cabin is the place to be. I only wish we could have stayed longer...we definitely will next time. Thank you again for your warm hospitality!

Cozy cabin with river to sing you to sleep

  • 4 of 5
This cabin was just what we were looking for. It was close enough to town, but it was secluded enough to enjoy the mountains and river. The hot tub was relaxing, and the bed was comfortable. The kitchen was cute and had all we needed. This would be a great cabin for a family or group of friends, because it is furnished with lots of games and movies. We enjoyed the quaintness of the log interior, too. The mountain road leading to the cabin was actually a lot of fun for us delta dwellers to traverse! Be sure to take bottled water to drink; the well water smells sulfuric, which is common for well water. A possible opportunity for improvement for future guests could be to increase the lighting, which is currently dim. This would make it easier for the owners to find those easy to miss places when cleaning. Overall, the cabin was clean. Just dust and cobwebs in certain places along with dog hair on towels, futon pillows, and the futon. We would both go back in a heartbeat, so none of these limitations would keep us away because they were so minimal. They are just why the cabin got 4 starts instead of 5, but we definitely loved our stay!

A beautiful getaway

  • 4 of 5
The cabin is beautiful. The setting is beautiful. It makes for a spectacular trip away. There are a couple things to note, though:

-The hill is STEEP to get up to the cabin, and when it rains (and you have a Ford Taurus as we did), your tires will spin. But we did make it up every time, so it's not a huge obstacle.
-You're responsible for cleaning the cabin before you leave. This isn't a terrible thing, as we were tidy people, but having to put the sheets in the wash and make sure they were in the dryer before we left was a bit of a hassle. Our group was driving back to Wisconsin and wanted to leave by 7, that meant waking up even earlier than planned just to have the sheets in the wash and dryer before we left.
