Description of the Chilmark vacation house rental
Summer cottage, cathedral ceilings, fireplace. monumental stone walls, flowery meadows, view of Lucy Vincent Beach and waters beyond, tall pines behind with a back porch always cooled by an ocean breeze and filled with melodies of nesting wrens, and deck overlooking the meadow and ocean. Comfortable cottage living with a huge newly renovated kitchen and 2 newly tiled bathrooms, meadow view, surrounded by flowering shrubs, daylilies, ferns and vast stretches of wildflowers, beach plum and high bush blueberry, one mile from entrance to Lucy Vincent Beach, access to Squibnocket beach and Community Center. Kitchen just renovated with new spacious cupboards and new appliances. Two bathrooms newly tiled with new sinks and shower/tub. Hilltop gazebo with ocean view. Very near the entrance to Fulling Mill Conservancy's 90 acres of trails. Fill the bird feeders and watch.

Chilmark is the most scenic part of Martha's Vineyard, with the most beautiful beach on the island in view of our house. The Chilmark Community Center has cultural events (concerts, films, lectures) and a daily camp for Chilmark kids. Vineyard restaurants feature gourmet and country kitchen, ( you might find yourself dining next to a presidential candidate or your favorite television personality. The fishing village of Menemsha with its docks of fishing boats and jetty angling for bass and blues right next to a calm, kid-friendly beach is a sunset tradition. A highlight of the summer is the Agricultural Fair (mid August).
