Charming 45 square metres apartment for max. 5 people nicely decorated located on the 2nd floor of an 18th century elegant 'palazzo' totally renovated, bright and really quiet, situated on Colle Oppio, one of Rome's seven hills, at the entrance of a scenic garden which dominates the Colosseum and the Fori Imperiali, 5 minutes walk from the famous basilics of San Pietro in Vincoli and Santa Maria Maggiore.The floor is covered by wood parquet. Elevator.

The windows of the aparment are directed on an internal courtyard, for this reason this apartment is very quiet.

On the 5th floor ( elevator until the 4th floor ) we have a 25 square meters studio ( bedroom, bathroom, kitchen )also extremely quiet with a private terrace of 25 square meters as well. In this apartment can fit 2 people with eventually a child.

This mean that 8 people can be accomodated between the 2 apartments.

The area is well connected by subway and bus. Grocery shop and classic Roman bars very close, larger shopping area only 5 minutes walk. The apartments are serviced before and after rental, maid service is available at extra charge. Internet wifi conection included in the rental fee.

About Marie L. Henry Romiti

I am French, half German and married to an Italian man. I have a degree in law from a French University and an MBA of a Madrid business school.

When my twins, Teo & Leo, were born in 1996, I was one of the first in Rome to start this activity of renting apartments to tourists through internet. I did not want to work the full day in an office, I wanted to take care of my children and at the same time be related with people from all the world and practice my 5 languages.

This property has an extremely good location near the main attractions In Rome ( Colosseum, Forum, Basilics of San Pietro in Vincoli, San Giovanni and Santa Maria Maggiore, 30 minutes walk from Spanish steps, 20 minutes from Trevi Fountain...)

The area is elegant and not too busy. There is a nice park facing the Colosseum at 20 meters of the entrance of the apartment.

The apartment is very quiet.

This property is located just at the entrance of the Parco di Traiano which is facing the Colosseum. The archeological area of Rome is all walking distance. The centre of Rome (piazza Navona, Fontana di Trevi, Spanish steps) is also reachable walking (from 15 to 35 minutes) or by direct city bus or direct metro line in just a few stops.

Via Mecenate is located in a safe and quiet area but there are plenty of bars, pubs and restaurants at a walking distance of 5 minutes walking toward the Colosseum or in the direction of the basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore and Via Merulana.

Lovely apartment, really well renovated, LOVED the mezzanine bed. Perfect for a short break in centre of Rome - only a couple of minutes walk from the front door to the Colosseum.

Really clean and well maintained, only prob was no roof terrace as advertised on the website and in-apartment leaflets, but this was no big deal as the sun was shining the whole time and we wanted to see the city!
Recommended for:  Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
Owner's Response: The roofterrace was before for the use of this apartment but since last summer we have a new apartment on the top of the building with the exclusive use of the roofterrace. We simply forgot to modify the informations on this website (it has been done on the other websites)!

Appartement très agréable, très calme, conforme aux photos. Il ne manque rien. De plus l'appartement est très bien situé, un petit peu à l'écart du flot des touristes tout en étant rapidement accessible. Marie est très disponible pour venir vous accueillir même à une heure tardive.

Me encantó el apartamento. Todo estaba muy limpio, el tamaño del piso perfecto, no demasiado grande pero lo suficiente para pasar unos días y las camas son cómodas. Quizás la ducha no sea muy grande, pero la ducha de mi casa es todavía más pequeña, por lo que no tuve ningún problema (aunque quizás sí le quitaría el hidromasaje, que es lo que reduce bastante el espacio). En cuanto a la localización, está en un edificio antiguo con patio interior con mucho encanto y situado al lado del coliseo, atravesando el parque de Trajano, todo un lujazo vamos.
Marie habla perfectamente español, lo cual se agradece.
Si vuelvo a Roma, (seguramente sí) intentaré alquilar el apartamento de nuevo.

You can't beat this location -- an easy walk to the Forum, Colosseum, San Clemente, Peter-in-Chains, great restaurants. The building is very secure and attractive. The beds were firm and the AC was a comforting surprise. Beware, however, if you might have trouble climbing an 18-inch wide ladder into the loft, or showering in a meter-square space w/a "massage" fixture that is similar in shape to a one-man Kayak (honest). We managed, but we're lean. Also be aware that the entire building across the courtyard is being gutted to be turned into condos this summer (June 2011), so there's construction noise from 8 a.m. on. Overall, we would consider returning.
Recommended for:  Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
