Big Bass Lake Vacation Rental house

The accommodations certainly fit our needs. This was both our second marriage. We had family drive in from different states. With the six-bedroom house, extra sleeping with couches & three bathrooms gave us plenty of space. We wanted a simple but cozy atmosphere & we got it. Everyone was very comfortable & felt like they were at home. We were concerned about no air condition since it was going to be in the 90’s. There were ceiling fans in every room. We bought a couple of floor fans to assist in the mid-afternoon. With the trees surrounding the house, the ceiling fans & the other floor fans our worries were decreased. In the peak heat of the day, the basement-pool table area/kitchenette and two bedrooms provided retreat from the high heat. We all enjoyed the outdoors & the canoe rides in the lake right in the back yard. We had a beautiful wedding right off the back deck looking over the wood area, lake in the background & the birds were singing during the ceremony. The coziness of the home helped in making our special day. We enjoyed the 3-day weekend stay. It was very affordable, convenience for a large number of people. We were pleased enough to rent again.

We enjoyed our vacation in the Poconos. The house was comfortable with beautiful views and lots of room for a big family. The canoe rides were peaceful and relaxing.

Pros: This was a wonderful place for us to get together as a family for our parents 30th anniversary. Plenty of room, kitchen stocked with more than we even thought would be there. Garbage disposal and compactor in kitchen. Even a little kitchenette downstairs too! View was awesome. Nice quiet area. Lots of deer to see. Even saw a turtle and a deer swimming across the lake. House was clean, up to date, plenty of space for 16-18 people. Tv/vcr/dvd in almost every room. Internet access. Pool table, ping pong table, washer/dryer included. Ceiling fans in every room kept it plenty cool in June. Nice Hot tub for 6-8 people. Owner kept in contact with us and answered all questions quickly by email (sorry we had so many questions..but it was definitely worth it). Plenty of pillows and extra blankets available in each room. Ramp up to screened in porch that a wheelchair could be pushed up. Had a highchair, kids bed rail, kids gate.
Cons: Refridgerator is old and did not really keep things that cold and it took all day to freeze the ice cubes, but we managed. There was no skimmer to clean out the hot tub and there is a $100 deducted from security if you don't leave it clean.(i didn't get a chance to speak with owner yet if we will get that part of our security back). We used my kid's bug box to try to skim it for several hours the best we could. Other than that, it was a great time and we would definitely recommend this rental to our friends.
