The first floor features a nice entrance with a rounded glass door, large living/dining room with ornate copper ceiling, fireplace, seating area,nice furnishings and rugs.The full kitchen is equipped for gourmet cooking, large new refrigerator and stove, W/D, large stainless tub kitchen sink. The breakfast area/bay window overlooks the lawn and garden with a great view of the harbor.A short staircase leads to the second floor, the landing is a sitting/desk area with full view of the street, the 2 bedrooms are 15 feet apart with a shared master bath. The claw foot tub is old ceramic with modern shower head [circular voile curtain]and a new Kohler toilet. Master bedr has a queen size bed dressed with designer linens. There are nice antiques throughout, beige berber carpets and oriental rugs.2nd bedr has 2 twin beds.Both bedrooms offer a great harbor/lawn view. Large 400 sqft separ studio for extra 2 guests avail as a 3rd bedr, ideal for couples, elderly, offered only during the summer.
Description of the adjacent/opt Barn studio:
An additional 400 sq feet studio on the 1st fl of the Barn is available during the high season to elderly couples or to larger families who need an additional bedroom. The large panoramic windows show a great view of the harbor and lawn. The floors are the original pine boards, sanded and covered with attractive area rugs. The furnishings are complete: 2 twin beds that can also form a king bed, night stands, lamps, a garden style table with 2 large white armchairs, a large counter with a Kohler sink, chest of drawers, stereo, TV, internet, track lighting.
The bathroom is new with a fiberglass shower stall, toilet, mirror, wooden floors.
This room is very comfortable for single visitors or for guests who prefer to avoid stairs and be on the main floor only.
Description of the Tall House[owner's side]:
Different option=The Triplex[Tall House on 3 floors] is original from 1840-1860. Most likely the house was lifted up & new floors were added below. A town map from the 1870's shows the house on the present site.Original details from that time are the ornate tin-copper ceiling in one of the 'fancy' rooms, the golden color varnished woodwork, the beautiful architectural staircase & elaborate ceiling plasterwork. The windows are mostly originals, leaded glass or old wood-glass covered by silk organza curtains.The kitchen-living area is surrounded by the beautiful large porch with white columns,delicate railing & bue color ceiling. The oak floors are original, new appliances and cabinets , white Corian countertops. A large bedroom suite on the 2nd floor& a charming bedroom/bath, 3rd floor, are filled with nice furniture,rugs,country linens.The 2nd floor bath is newly renovated with Kohler Artists' Series toilet sink power jet tub Maytag washer maple floors.Each fl has waterside windows.
