Wonderful stay at condo at Moon Bay

We had a wonderful stay at the condo at Moon Bay. The description was accurate. The condo was clean, we never saw a bug of any kind. It was nice to have paper towels, hand soaps, and other little things we usually have to buy. Also, there were fishing poles, too, just need some tackle. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, utensils, and spices, easy to cook meals in. Moon Bay was nice and quiet, pool is bigger than it looks in the pics. Not a lot of people at the resort during our stay.
As with every place, there were a few negatives. The dryer does Not dry clothes. The towels and clothes actually dried a lot faster laying them over stools in front of the large window, with the ceiling fans on, which brings me to our next problem. The wall of windows has vertical blinds that only cover about half the window, and don't slide correctly. In the evening, the sun beams in and heats up that area, making it very uncomfortable to sit and watch the sunset or or just sit in the living room area. My son slept on the pull out sofa and sweated most of the night. By morning, the AC had it cooled down, until 5pm or so, when it got hot in there again. They really need to get some thermal drapes that slide open and shut on this window. The window/door slides open but the railing is right against it, so there is no balcony to sit on. We missed having a balcony to dry out scuba gear on.
It appears they are replacing bathroom fixtures one at a time, as the toilet, medicine cabinet, and faucets are brand new, and the tub, sink, and drop ceiling look original and need replaced. On the other hand, we always had hot water for showers and the pressure was great, and the place is clean, so it wasn't a problem. Alison was great to work with on getting the condo, and I would stay again and recommend it to others.
We dove with John Penekamp state park, they have a great 3 dive deal. Snorkeling is reasonably priced there too, but only on the snorkeling boat. If you ride on the dive boat to snorkel, you pay the same as a diver! We usually dive with Amoray Dive Resort, which is 2 doors from Moon Bay, and love to dive with them. They allow snorkeling from the dive boat (for snorkel price), and are a lot of fun too. We just couldn't resist the great deal at the state park this time. Did not eat at local restaurants, although we ate at the Fish House last time we visited Key Largo. It was good seafood, but quite pricey for a family on a budget.
