This was such a lovely vacation trip! The cabin was exactly as presented on the website; immaculate, convenient to everything we wanted to do, well-stocked with basic essentials and more, and just plain fun. No problems of any kind were encountered.. Would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a convenient yet quiet and away-from-it-all place to relax and enjoy nature. A return visit to this cabin is definitely in my plans for future vacations.
We stayed in "the Other Place" cabin this past weekend and had a wonderful time! It was in a great location for us as my brother and his family live less than a mile away. We have ben to Bryson City many times so this trip wasn't about sight seeing or getting to the tourist attraction. It was simply about being together as a family and relaxing. This cabin was the perfect place for that. We enjoyed playing games and grilling on the back porch, rocking and talking on the front porch, and laughing all weekend long. The cabin was absolutely immaculate. Plenty of space for all of us to spread out. Kitchen is well appointed but we did miss our cast iron skillets for cooking breakfast. We'll just bring one with us next time we come. We brought a lot of food with us but we did go to the grocery store a few times. Ingles is really close by and we stopped by after our requisite visit to the Nantahala Brewery. The beds were very comfortable and there were an abundance of linens. The only thing that would make this place even better would be a fire pit outside. Thanks for such a wonderful family getaway. We'll be back!
My family enjoyed a great 4 day stay in the cabin. It was within about 20 min. of lots of things to do. We visited Cherokee, tubed on Deep Creek, rafted the Natahala, shopped in Bryson City and the NOC. Amenities in the cabin were great - kitchen was well maintained, hot tub, good supply of linens. Don't know about tv reception - didn't have time for that. Not much computer or cell reception which we already knew and were prepared for. We did have a problem when the well didn't work one day but Ray and the caretaker, Lisa, were right on it and got water temporarily until repair people could come out. It presented no problem with activities we had planned. I would definitely recommend the cabin to friends and hope to return for another visit.
Was able to make last minute vacation plans from the beach to the mountains, due to the weather. This was all due to Ray the homeowner being totally involved in working with us ASAP. He made sure that everything was taken care of by the time we arrived. The cabin and private location blew us away. Can't say enough about the accomadations. It was my wife, myself and our four legged daughter Bailey on this trip. Within thirty five minutes of arriving , our sweet Bailey alerted us to something very, very special. A momma bear and two little black cubs just off the back porch. What a thrill to behold. We spent a week at the cabin and enjoyed every moment there. The hot tub was put to use most nights and was appreciated after a day full of fun and adventure in Bryson City and surrounding areas. There is plenty to see and do for anyone staying at this cabin. Young or old , two or four legged. You will not be disappointed. It has been about a year since our last family vacation to 'The Other Place'. We recently had to give our beautiful Bailey to the Lord above after nearly thirteen years of unbridled love and companionship. Folks, take the time to make some life time memories in a special place. GOD BLESS!
We had a very nice trip. The cabin was very clean and comfortable. We were pleased that it was as nice as or even better than the description of it. The hot tub was nice and the kitchen was well stocked with cookware. The tvs did not get local channels, but we were able to watch some shows. It was very close to Bryson City, Cherokee, and the National Park with waterfalls. We were twenty minutes from the NOC where we did whitewater rafting and the zipline adventure park. With four teenagers, three bedrooms was a great benefit. The owner was very helpful and quick to respond to any questions we had. We would visit this cabin again.
My daughter and her friend from school and I enjoyed our trip to this cabin in August. This is the second time I have stayed here. It has privacy yet it is close to town; only took about 12 minutes to drive to Ingles, the grocery store in town. The pictures of the cabin are realistic and true to form. Everything we needed was provided in the cabin and the cabin was clean and neat. The owner is excellent to deal with and is quick to respond to requests for information.
