The pictures really don't do it justice. There is a great screened-in porch with a dining table not pictured and the deck was great for sunning. The home was spacious and clean, but homey and comfortable. Our 6 kids all fit with room to spare! The linens and towels were very nice and the rooms spacious. The kids' bunk rooms were great and they loved all being together for the week.
The dock offered hours of swimming, jumping and fishing. There is a great public beach with lifeguards and a diving board down the street, but we never felt the need to go. The fire pit was perfectly designed and offered lovely evening views of the lake. We were visited by the geese, the loon and the ducks, but missed the eagle during our stay.
The only thing keeping this lovely gem from being a 5 star is lack of connectivity; while the moms enjoyed the peace and quiet we did miss being able to connect to the outside world. We were without cell service and the house did not offer wi-fi. Also, while there is a little store around the corner, it's very.... limited. Don't order the pizza. :)
The closest, decent store is 15 mins away, so pack accordingly!
To get away, enjoy peace and solitude, this is the place to be!! Our week went far too fast!
This was a very nice home right on the lake. We really enjoyed the proximity to the beach, the wonderful lake and mountain views, and the screened porch which was great for dining. The deck and the terrace offer great views.
Ryan provided a very comprehensive information packet that literally walks you through the house and answers any questions you might have.
The home was very comfortable and well stocked with books and games with many for younger children. The linens were clean and folded for each of the beds. The upstairs shower was especially nice. The kitchen pantry has ample storage for your items.
We brought our own kayaks, but there were three boats provided complete with life jackets and the necessary paddles / oars. The lake itself is very suitable for small boats with many places to explore where the river comes into it.
We had a great time and would recommend this rental to anyone.
Our family enjoyed a wonderful week at Lakeside Pines. It was roomy and well equiped for our first family vacation with the grandsons ages 7, 3, 4, and 1. The older ones learned to fish with Daddy and Grandpa while the baby explored the playroom. The close proximity to the lake and the raft and paddle boat were especially appreciated due to the oppressive heat wave we experienced.
We would recommend the camp to any family that wants to experience a real Adirondack vacation.
My family and I had a wonderful week at the lakefront home this July. We had a group of 11 and had lots of space for everyone. The kids really enjoyed the lake right out the back as well as the local beach. We also found a nice gift shop just down the road which had some very nice items.
We found the house to be very clean and I'd even like to comment on the nice linens they have. We also loved the screen in porches which was a great place to have your meals. Our family has rented many homes over the years and this one is certainly a keeper! I would highly recommend.
I loved feeding the ducks and watching the sunsets by the fire. We've been going there for the last two years and we all love it!!!!!! The walks around the lake is very peaceful.
We have the greatest time @ the McGrath's. The lake view is beautiful and the lake is very clean. My friends and I just hang out in the porch all day and night. Some of us never left the home.
