Scenic, year-round, 4 bedroom home nestled on quaint lake cove. Great for vacationing with multiple families or groups. Conveniences close by without sacrificing peaceful relaxation. Located on quiet lake with outdoor fire pit, dock, wrap around deck and screened in porch. Ideal setting for family reunions with small motel only a short walk away. Children's playground, tennis courts, and pavilion with picnic tables across the street. Public boat launch nearby. Sandy beach a short walk down the road. 3 min. walk to General Store for all your last minute needs (includes take out pizza, movie rentals, beer, soda, gifts...) and an ice cream stand for keeping the kids happy. Nothing compares to autumn in the Adirondacks. Beautiful colors from the surrounding mountains reflect perfectly off the glass-like lake. Canoe lovers will marvel at the wildlife in the connecting river as their paddles cut gracefully through tranquil waters.

Or for more adventure, bikers can enjoy miles on the bike route that passes through Wells. Mountain biking is also an option at Gore Mtn. Numerous hiking trails closeby. Within 30 minutes: Oak Mtn., Golfing, Movie Theatre, Restaurants, and Supermarket 30-60 minutes: Animal Land Zoo, Gore Mtn., Lake George, Story Land, Great Escape, Saratoga Race Track and Performing Arts Center, Adirondack Museum. 60+ minutes: Lake Placid In the Winter enjoy: Downhill Skiing, Numerous Trails for snowmobiles, XC Skiing, and snow shoes, Sledding and Tubing (Oak Mtn), Skating (Gore Mtn).

Ambitious bikers ride the bike route to other scenic lakes in the Adirondacks. In the winter enjoy the many outdoor activities in the area. And, after a day of skiing, snowmobiling, sledding or a simple walk come into the warmth of our indoor fireplace. You and your guests will enjoy our large living room, social kitchen/dining room great for both meals and games, and cozy sun room with incredible views of the lake and mountains. The boot room keeps all your belongings out of the way yet dry and ready for your next winter adventure. Wells is approximately 1.25 hours northwest of Albany, NY.

Ski: Ski at Oak Mountain (20 minute drive) or Gore Mountain (35 min drive). Oak Mountain, a smaller mountain, is ideal for families and lines are usually not an issue. Gore Mountain is a larger mountain with a gondola and offers all that larger ski area have to offer.

Great Week at Wells

My family and I had a wonderful week at the lakefront home this July. We had a group of 11 and had lots of space for everyone. The kids really enjoyed the lake right out the back as well as the local beach. We also found a nice gift shop just down the road which had some very nice items.

We found the house to be very clean and I'd even like to comment on the nice linens they have. We also loved the screen in porches which was a great place to have your meals. Our family has rented many homes over the years and this one is certainly a keeper! I would highly recommend.

I loved feeding the ducks and watching the sunsets by the fire. We've been going there for the last two years and we all love it!!!!!! The walks around the lake is very peaceful.

We have the greatest time @ the McGrath's. The lake view is beautiful and the lake is very clean. My friends and I just hang out in the porch all day and night. Some of us never left the home.
