For an unforgettable Alaskan experience, we invite you to stay in our beautifully hand crafted log cabin. Built on the banks of the scenic Chena River, Riverbend Log Cabins offers a peaceful and secluded 3 ½ acre setting that is centrally located between historical Fairbanks and North Pole Alaska. The rustic elegance of the Chinook Cabin is enhanced by the beautiful river view and surrounding boreal forest. Trees have been cleared in front of the cabin to provide an unobstructed view of Northern Lights. Abundant wildlife – moose, eagles, beaver, waterfowl are often seen from the cabin. Moose frequently visit the property – both during the summer and winter months.

The Chinook Cabin features lovely, comfortable furnishings and beautiful artwork. An outdoor log steam sauna provides a perfect way to relax after a long day. For enjoying the outdoors the Chinook cabin features a cobblestone patio with a gas propane grill, a log picnic table, a small lower deck with a handcrafted log bench, and a larger second story balcony with table and chairs.

The fully equipped kitchen includes a stove and oven, microwave, dishes, cutlery, toaster and coffee maker, refrigerator and everything needed for meal preparation. The cabin is stocked with complementary Alaska blend gourmet coffee and condiments.

The Chinook Cabin has two upstairs bedrooms each with a queen sized bed. Both beds have new mattresses that are fitted with 100% high thread count cotton sheets, soft blankets and comforters. The bedrooms have one adjoining wall that can be closed with a wood folding door. Each bedroom has a separate entrance. The larger bedroom has French doors that lead to an upstairs balcony with beautiful river and northern lights views.

There is a downstairs bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub and shower and a half bath upstairs.

In addition to our Chinook cabin, Riverbend offers the Sourdough cabin. The Sourdough features an upstairs bedroom, a downstairs full bath with shower and a fully equipped kitchen. My husband and I wanted to experienced Alaska and the Riverbend Log Cabins was so much more then we ever imagined. Clean, big, in a wooded, secluded area on the Chena River. We felt like we had rented a home that we could live in for a long time. We didnt want to leave. The owners made us feel at home and were the nicest folks you will ever want to meet. We had it all and more: Wooded lot, riverview, moose in the front yard, birds at the feeder, heated floors, close to dog mushing, an out of this world Auroa Borealis view right off the bedroom balcony or a 2 mile drive down the road to "the flats", jacuzzi bathtub, fully appointed kitchen, cozy/comfy furniture, great Alaska books to check out and a comfortable vacation rental that no hotel could ever give you. Do yourself a favor and stay here. AWESOME!!!!

Three of us stayed at the cabin in March. The cabin was clean and really cozy! The owners were so welcoming and helpful. They gave us a good advice to stay in Fairbanks and their snow mobile tour was fantastic!

The cabin is also good place to see the Northern Lights. We could see the lights form frozen liver. It was so beautiful and unforgettable.

Recommended for: Tourists without a Car, Families with Young Children

We spent 10 days in the Riverbend cabins (December 2011 - January 2012). And in one word I can say that everything was PERFECT.

1. Location: 20 min. driving to the University and the downtown in Fairbanks. 12 min. to the supermarket in Fairbanks or in North Pole. 50 min to Chena Hot springs.

2. The place really beautiful. Everything snowy and so quiet. I suppose in summer it is also very beautiful.

3. The cabin (Sourdough) so cozy!! 100% clean. Warm. Perfect for a couple.

4. The owners - wonderful people.

5. Of course we will stay there again and again!

I think we were really fortunate to find this cabins!

My Alaskan winter has been complete with my stay in this little "Oasis" the Chinook Cabin at Riverbend. There are not enough positive adjectives to describe how wonderful this place really is. The cabin is very well appointed, decorated perfectly, cozy and just plain adorable. It is situated on the river in a peaceful and tranquil se...tting which was very relaxing and quite enjoyable but there were many exciting things happening as well. There were fireworks over the river on New Years Eve, dogsled teams running over the frozen river, Aurora viewing from the balcony, Momma moose and her young in the yard, plus Santa and Mrs Claus paying me a special visit during the holidays! Wow, what more could you ask for? The attention to detail and the genuine kindenss from the owners, the Hanson's, have made me feel extremely comfortable. My stay was everything I hoped for and MORE! I cannot wait until I can visit again, Thank you Debi and Bruce!

The Cabin is a wonderful place to stay, just located 20 min away from Fairbanks. Chena hot Springs is a 1 hour drive. North Pole is just 10 min away. The land in front of the Cabin and down to the river is cleared and the Cabins are away from any lights which may hinder the sky view, so it is a perfect place to see the aurora borealis, an experience we will never forget. Everything was absolutely perfect. The hand crafted Log Cabin is very clean and lovingly furnished and has a full stocked kitchen. Everything you need you can find there. The Owners Debi and Bruce gave us the feeling from a home away from home! They are the best hosts at all. Kind and helpful at any time but gave us lot of privacy as well. We are 4 girls from Germany and stayed in the Chinook Cabin from March 18, 2011 through March 27, 2011 and truly we did not want to leave!
