Reconnect with your family and Lake Michigan

Date of Stay: October 2008
I recently (October 2008) stayed at this property with family members ranging from 2 years to 80 years old. The 5 bedrooms allowed for personal space when needed, however, when we did stay indoors, most of our time was spent gathering in the spacious dining room connected to the living room. Some people wanted to watch the game in the den, while others prepared a snack in the well equiped kitchen, used the wireless connection in the house for the lap top computer (which we brought from home) or played a game on the large dining room table. Still others talked or read in the livingroom while others gazed at Lake Michigan right outside our wall of windows. Oh, I forgot to mention that still others played on the beach and playground equipment all visible from the house. We could see freighters and passenger boats making their way to the channel from the same windows, or for a really good view, run to the balcony off an upstairs bedroom. At a moments notice we could run outside and then to the pier to see the ships up close. The area has so much to offer...all within walking distance. On Sunday morning their were several kiteboarders in the cove adding to the fun, again visible from windows. We brought bikes and roller blades and used them all right out the front door. Everyone thoroughly took advantage of being so close to the beach. The house itself is set up for a place to kick back and enjoy. The owners have obviously thought about what someone would need while here. Highchair, crib, fans, portable fire pit, step stool, DVD's videos, games, books..the list goes on. We had a wonderful time...everyone was always doing something and no one felt as if we were in each others way. As we were first arriving and driving very close to the house, we passed through a section of Beach Street that has an elevated walk/ bike path on one side and Lake Michigan on the other...breathtaking.
