Kealakekua Bay House Rental Photos and Description

3 bedrooms, 3 full baths, sleeps 6

Beautiful Manini Point House is nestled between Kahauloa Cove and Manini Beach at Kealakekua Bay. The Hawaiian style architecture of this home, its full range of amenities, and its natural wood and stone create a feeling of comfortable luxury unique to vacation rentals, and will make your holiday feel very special. Spacious rooms and views of the ocean, landscape or mountains from each bedroom--you are surrounded by beauty.

Manini Point House is perfect for families, couples or friends. Sit at the beautiful koa wood bar or open the pocket doors to combine the large gourmet kitchen with the outdoor lanai and grill for a delicious cooking and dining experience. Take a moment to enjoy the Bali Hut and stretch out, breathe. You will be greeted with a selection of seasonal exotic Hawaiian fruits and Organic 100% Kona coffee, a gift to you from your hosts' Organic Coffee and Mango Farm. Guests of Manini Point House are invited to take a tour of Konacopia Farm.

Island furniture and artwork compliment the rooms. Each bedroom has a comfortable queen-size bed and full bath. Lounge on the balcony from the upstairs bedroom suite and enjoy the ocean view, the sound of the surf, and watch the sunset.

K Bay is a marine sanctuary, home to spinner dolphins, beautiful fish and coral reefs and a resting spot for winter migrating whales. Take a kayaking tour, try a paddle board and hike or take a 'boat cruise' to Captain Cook monument where you can snorkel and see unusual fish and coral and perhaps swim with the dolphins!

Manini Point House's location offers a quick dip in the Pacific, easy walks through historical sites including Napoopoo Beach Park and Keei Beach--a locals favorite surfing spot with beautiful white sandy beach--without jumping in your car. Just 4 miles away is Puuhonua 'O Honaunau, Hawaii's National Park that is filled with legends of Old Hawaii. It offers hiking trails along the coast and picnic grounds. Two Step, adjacent to the park, is a favorite snorkeling spot. Just a 2 hours' drive away is Volcano National Park. Don't miss it! The guest book and our concierge will provide plenty of local know how and activities to fill your days. Arrange for a massage upon your return via a phone call to your hosts or postings in the guest book.

Enjoy a real Hawaiian experience. Experience our little village as well as the Big Island as a mix of local families and folks from around the world.

Come to Manini Point House! Enjoy the beauty of this unique vacation home, listen to the surf and feel the gentle ocean breeze. You will be glad you did.

About Elizabeth Kilpatrick

Steve and Elizabeth built Manini Point House in 2005 with the thought that we love the Big Island so much that we want to build a home where families will relax and enjoy precious moments together and know they are in a very special place. Our extended family often visits us in Hawaii and they look forward to their stay at Manini Point House. We live about 10 minutes away at Konacopia Organic Farm, and are happy to share this special place on a tour for our Manini Point House guests.

Elizabeth Kilpatrick purchased this house in 2005

Why Elizabeth Kilpatrick chose Kealakekua Bay

Manini Point House is just 300' from Manini Beach at Kealakekua Bay, a beautiful spot, and is located in a little village community. The neighborhood gives you an opportunity to visit with our friendly neighbors as well as folks visiting from around the world. Learn about the Hawaiian culture while visiting historical sites and 'talking story' with locals. If you are looking for an alternative to a generic engineered resort, Manini Point House offers the opportunity for an authentic Hawaiian experience in a historical part of the Big Island. K Bay is beautiful for snorkeling and swimming with reef fish, dolphins, and seasonal whales! Manini Beach is a relaxing, very special place to spend quality time alone or with family and friends. Manini Point House at K Bay is the place you will enjoy and remember, and know that you made the right choice.

What makes this house unique

This open, beautiful home has a large gourmet kitchen and lanai so families can cook, eat and relax together. Everyone will want to sit down to a meal on the lanai. The outside and inside join together. Enjoy the Bali Hut for a few contemplative moments and the outdoor shower after a day on the beach. Care for a game of pingpong?

Property well kept but smaller the appears in pic

The house is well equipped with absolutely everything a person or group of people could need. It was a little bit hard to find but Elizabeth's personal instructions on how to get there were very good. Definitely going there when the sun was up was a bonus as we weren't familiar with the area. The neighbours that have been there for several generations were very hospitable and gave us great info about the area. Elizabeth and Steve were gracious hosts and responded to our email enquiries very promptly. We were there to celabrate a fiends 60 birthday and we were able to arrange with Elizabeth a ice cream birthday cake for our late arrival on the 10th,. We highly recommend the property, it suited 3 couples extremely well and is located in a very laid back area where ther are multiple vacation rentals and vacationers in the same mind set as we were.

Beautiful home with a fantastic wateredge location

  • 4 of 5

Very beautiful home. Large flying cockroaches inside and small ones upstairs in bedroom were disconcerting....goes with the location perhaps. ( not encountered on other 3 islands in chain ) Very warm upstairs, so the fans were a help.

Great there were so many towels, enjoyed the fruit bowl treats. Plenty of dishes and cooking utensils also. Thought the neighbors were very nice and enjoyed their children. Was upset they hit their dogs....didn't say anything to them.

Fantastic location for swimming, kayaking etc.

Annies had delicious fish tacos, which we will return to.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review and especially the wonderful comments re Manini Point House as a "very beautiful home", its proximity to the best place to swim on the Big Island, the abundance of fruits and other offerings made ready for your arrival. Our goal is that all of our guests will love our home and enjoy their stay so we work hard to that end. Thank you as well for the comments re seeing a roach. They are definitely a part of the Big Island culture and living in such an open environment means food needs to be put away and doors closed, especially at night. However, we understand your concern and are remedying that situation. We hope to see you back at Manini Point House, as we discussed.

An Authentic Hawaiian Experience

  • 5 of 5

Staying at the Manini Point Beach House was a memorable and pleasurable experience for us. The location is perfect, such serenity and beauty and within walking distance from an exceptional beach for water activities. The house is well appointed and a great place to relax and unwind. Steve and Elizabeth were great hosts. We enjoyed our time spent with them. We especially loved the tour of their organic farm. We will definitely recommend staying here to our family and friends. In fact, we already have! Book it, you'll love it.

Paradise House in Paradise First time visitors

Our family enjoyed this beautiful property for 8 days in April. We included elderly, physically challenged through adventure seekers. This was a perfect home away from home for all of us. Huge lanai which provided wonderful views of ocean, vegetation and scores of birds. Anyone who could not be happy here needs serious counseling!! Would love to go back. Elizabeth and Steve were excellent hosts. Everything was spelled out for use of equipment and how to care for this amazing home. The pictures did not do justice to the beauty of the property. A vacation of a life time!

Beautiful house, great location and wonderful, helpful owners!!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I and three friends stayed at Manini Point House for 9 nine days and had a fantastic time! The house had plenty of room for the five of us to enjoy time together but also to find quiet time alone when/if we wanted it. It is well-equipped with everything you need for a great vacation - plenty of water toys, loads of kitchen utensils/dishes, and plenty of towels (for bathroom and beach).

The location for snorkeling, swimming and kayaking was perfect! We were fortunate enough to swim with the dolphins one day we were snorkeling; and on a subsequent day when we were kayaking back from the Captain Cook Monument, we (as well as several other kayakers) were surrounded and entertained by somewhere between 50 to 75 dolphins (just guessing at the number, but they were all around the bay) swimming along the top of the water and spinning up out of the water......the show lasted a good hour or more and was truly amazing!!!

Elizabeth and Steve, the owners, provided excellent information about where to eat, shop and enjoy the water. They were extremely attentive and have done an outstanding job of making Manini Point House comfortable and yet beautiful!!!

We will definitely visit Manini Point House again! Thank you so much, Elizabeth and Steve, for a very memorable vacation!!!

Fantastic beach house

  • 5 of 5

The house is exactly as described. It is extremely comfortable and exceptionally appointed, complete with lovely artwork and comfy furniture. The glass patio doors completely retract, providing for a huge open living space for socializing. The kitchen is a dream to cook in, with every imaginable appliance and all the modern conveniences. We spent our days touring the island and cooked in most evenings, sampling the local produce and seafood. The neighbours harvested their mangoe tree while we were there and shared their crop with us. The beach at Manini point is minutes away and run by two very friendly local woman who are happy to chat about their island and share their knowledge of great spots to visit. While we were there we saw breaching whales, turtles and spinner dolphins - all in one day! We loved our two week visit and highly recommend the Manini beach house to you.
