Steve and Elizabeth built Manini Point House in 2005 with the thought that we love the Big Island so much that we want to build a home where families will relax and enjoy precious moments together and know they are in a very special place. Our extended family often visits us in Hawaii and they look forward to their stay at Manini Point House. We live about 10 minutes away at Konacopia Organic Farm, and are happy to share this special place on a tour for our Manini Point House guests.

Elizabeth Kilpatrick purchased this house in 2005

Manini Point House is just 300' from Manini Beach at Kealakekua Bay, a beautiful spot, and is located in a little village community. The neighborhood gives you an opportunity to visit with our friendly neighbors, and folks visiting from around the world. Learn about Hawaiian culture while visiting historical sites and 'talking story' with locals. If you are looking for an alternative to a generic engineered resort, Manini Point House offers the opportunity for an authentic Hawaiian experience in a historic, part of the Big Island. K Bay is beautiful for snorkeling and swimming with reef fish, dolphins, and seasonal whales! Manini Beach is a relaxing, very special place to spend quality time alone or with family and friends. Manini Point House at K Bay is the place you will enjoy and remember, and know that you made the right choice.

This open, beautiful home has a large gourmet kitchen so families can cook together. Everyone will want to sit down to a meal on the lanai. The outside and inside join together. Enjoy the outdoor shower after a day on the beach. Care for a game of pingpong?

AN AUTHENTIC HAWAIIAN EXPERIENCE

  • 5 of 5
Staying at the Manini Point Beach House was a memorable and pleasurable experience for us. The location is perfect, such serenity and beauty and within walking distance from an exceptional beach for water activities. The house is well appointed and a great place to relax and unwind. Steve and Elizabeth were great hosts. We enjoyed our time spent with them. We especially loved the tour of their organic farm. We will definitely recommend staying here to our family and friends. In fact, we already have! Book it, you'll love it.

PARADISE HOUSE IN PARADISE FIRST TIME VISITORS

  • 5 of 5
Our family enjoyed this beautiful property for 8 days in April. We included elderly, physically challenged through adventure seekers. This was a perfect home away from home for all of us. Huge lanai which provided wonderful views of ocean, vegetation and scores of birds. Anyone who could not be happy here needs serious counseling!! Would love to go back. Elizabeth and Steve were excellent hosts. Everything was spelled out for use of equipment and how to care for this amazing home. The pictures did not do justice to the beauty of the property. A vacation of a life time!

BEAUTIFUL HOUSE, GREAT LOCATION AND WONDERFUL, HELPFUL OWNERS!!!

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I and three friends stayed at Manini Point House for 9 nine days and had a fantastic time! The house had plenty of room for the five of us to enjoy time together but also to find quiet time alone when/if we wanted it. It is well-equipped with everything you need for a great vacation - plenty of water toys, loads of kitchen utensils/dishes, and plenty of towels (for bathroom and beach).

The location for snorkeling, swimming and kayaking was perfect! We were fortunate enough to swim with the dolphins one day we were snorkeling; and on a subsequent day when we were kayaking back from the Captain Cook Monument, we (as well as several other kayakers) were surrounded and entertained by somewhere between 50 to 75 dolphins (just guessing at the number, but they were all around the bay) swimming along the top of the water and spinning up out of the water......the show lasted a good hour or more and was truly amazing!!!

Elizabeth and Steve, the owners, provided excellent information about where to eat, shop and enjoy the water. They were extremely attentive and have done an outstanding job of making Manini Point House comfortable and yet beautiful!!!

We will definitely visit Manini Point House again! Thank you so much, Elizabeth and Steve, for a very memorable vacation!!!

FANTASTIC BEACH HOUSE

  • 5 of 5
The house is exactly as described. It is extremely comfortable and exceptionally appointed, complete with lovely artwork and comfy furniture. The glass patio doors completely retract, providing for a huge open living space for socializing. The kitchen is a dream to cook in, with every imaginable appliance and all the modern conveniences. We spent our days touring the island and cooked in most evenings, sampling the local produce and seafood. The neighbours harvested their mangoe tree while we were there and shared their crop with us. The beach at Manini point is minutes away and run by two very friendly local woman who are happy to chat about their island and share their knowledge of great spots to visit. While we were there we saw breaching whales, turtles and spinner dolphins - all in one day! We loved our two week visit and highly recommend the Manini beach house to you.

EXCELLENT FAMILY VACATION AT MANINI POINT HOUSE!

  • 5 of 5
Our notes from the guest book tell it all!

"What an extraordinary place to spend our 25th Anniversary. Connie, Trevor, Evan and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves: trip to Volcano NP, the City of Refuge, snorkeling in Kealakekua and Two Step, and I found plenty of geocaches here and around the island and added a new state (Check out "Kayakaholic" at the Kona Boys place, easy find).

Beautifully appointed house, we enjoyed the art and music and spent plenty of time relaxing on the lanai. Had epic ping-pong games with the boys, I never won... We were particularly fond of the "Lanai Geckos", you never know where they'll be!

Mahalo for an excellent week and best wishes in all your endeavors.

BEAUTIFUL HOME AWAY FROM HOME...WISH IT WAS HOME!!

  • 5 of 5
I have to say we love the home!! We were here for a week with our three children ranging from 3-13, and it couldn't have been more perfect! Everything was extremely taken care of, top quality flooring, finishes, appliances, etc (the kids loved walking to the beach and snorkeling and playing ping pong). We travel frequently and you can never be sure when staying in a home what the area may be like, however that is not the case here! The few neighbors that are around are so very kind and extremely friendly, they definitely made us feel welcome and safe! We truly enjoyed everyone around and everyone we met. I personally don't see how anyone could possibly complain about noise, unless they don't enjoy the peaceful sound of the ocean waves! We are enjoying having families around us, and quite frankly any resort, condo, hotel, etc would have ten times the noise!

Manini Beach is about a 2 minute walk from the home and some of the best snorkeling (& we snorkel frequently in many areas) We even had the thrill of seeing a huge sea turtle in the water with us along with the hundreds of beautiful fish!

Elizabeth and Steve are amazing hosts! They were always available any time we needed (which was mainly for directions to places b/c the home provided everything we needed and more) and they went above and beyond with suggestions of places to go, things to see and helpful contacts along the way. Additionally, the farm and the produce was outstanding!

I can guarantee when we return to the Big Island we will be in touch!! Miss the home and lovely people already! So many thanks and love to you for sharing your beautiful home with our family! Aloha!
