Photos and Description of the Squam Lake vacation cottage rental

The camp is a quintessential New Hampshire lake cottage - all knotty pine interior, carpet in all rooms except kitchen and bath. The house has good heat, (thermostatically controlled gas warm air). New kitchen, fridge, gas stove, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and all the essentials, dishes, glasses, pots, pans etc. Great room - 27" TV (basic cable) VCR/DVD/CD combo with a selection of VHS movies in the cabinet, stereo with Bose speakers (bring your CD's). Large dinner table (seats 8), stand up bar at kitchen. Bedroom 1, one full-size bed, 2 small dressers and a small desk, closet. Bedroom 2, two twin beds, 1 dresser and closet. Bath full-size tub/shower, vanity sink, closet. Small covered deck on side of the camp, and a large lakefront patio, outdoor table, six chairs and gas grill, 207 ft of lake frontage with a great view east looking out of Cotton Cove. The cove is generally quiet, and protected from all winds except those from the east.

Location: Lakes Region < New Hampshire < USA

Although this house is right on Rte 113 (a picturesque road in itself) it is very private, there isn't a house on the lake on either side of it for almost a thousand feet. Its location affords a nice walk to town (Holderness, couple of nice restaurants), the NH Science Center, and trails into the mountains. It's also an easy drive to area attractions, many fine restaurants, you can even get to a NH ocean beach (Rye) in about 2 hours if you wanted to.

There is a sandy beach area and 2 parallel boat docks. Tie up between and/or on either side (up to 3 boats can be accommodated) (even an airplane has been accommodated). here is also a 14' rowboat for your use, life jackets, and an anchor are in the lakefront closet.

Renting this property was very easy and there were no problems! Easy location- walk to town or the Science Center. Great for swimming or boating or jet ski so be sure to bring your own toys! (If you are from out of state, do your research regarding boat rentals because a permit might be required.) Lots of sunfish for kids to catch. Early morning sun means desirable shade for the afternoon in the summer. The full size bed was not that comfortable for two people and combined with sun rising in the window, meant early to get up which we didn't mind since it was the best time to kayak! The property is right on the road which is not too too busy but watch the kids! I would love to rent this property again!

Wonderful Stay

Cottage is as described. Property was well maintained, however we found food in refrigerator when we arrived, maybe previous guests trying to be helpful, don't know didn't try anything they left. We took daily trips from Holderness everyday to all the great sights the Lakes Region has to offer with time leftover in the afternoon for a daily swim with the kids. Lots of great restaurants in the area. We make it our goal to visit as many Common Man restaurants as possible, but the cottage kitchen is well equipped and came in very handy too. The view up the lake from this cottage is priceless. We were awakened each morning by the calling of loons. Weekdays Cotton Cove (where cottage is located) is quiet, but very active on weekends. Perfect place for a family with kids. Ours enjoyed the sandy swimming area, rides in rowboat (provided), fishing for sun fish and the Science Center. Would recommend it to anyone that asks and have recommended to family already.

A Great, Stress-Free, Vacation

The location of this cottage is perfect. Walk to Holderness General Store for excellent breakfast or lunch sandwiches. Boat through the channel to Little Squam and dock at Walter's Basin for great dinner. The kitchen is really nice especially since it has a full size diswasher! Not far away in Ashland is the supermarket and another really good restaurant called The Common Man. Great gift shop across the street from The Common Man.
