Beautiful beaches, Water Sports, Golf and Tennis and Sea Fishing are features of this location. The apartment is on the third floor of a small block of 40 apartments with a swimming pool and pleasant gardens and overlooks the Marina. It has its own secure parking space and lift and is just 5 minutes walk from the beautiful sandy beach. An 18 hole golf course is just 5 minutes away by car and guests renting the apartment are eligible for concessionary green fees. For the more energetic, tennis courts, volley ball and paddle tennis are also available adjacent to the apartment. From the ample balcony there are views over the marina, nature reserve, the picturesque fishing village of Punte del Moral and distant views to Portugal with spectacular sunsets. A number of good restaurants, bars and shops are available close by and in Ayamonte visitors will be spoilt for choice. Nearby Hotels offer additional facilities for families including evening entertainment.

Isla Canela is one of the great European tourist developments with some 7 kilometres of rustic sandy beaches, a marina with navigable canals, a nature reserve and much more. It is situated some 50 minutes drive from Faro airport in Portugal and around 75 minutes from Seville airport in Spain. Further connections are available from Jerez airport and many budget airlines are now flying into all three of these locations. The lovely little town of Ayamonte, which is the last town in Western Spain next to the Portugese border, is just 5 minutes drive away. Portugal itself can be reached in 10 minutes by road bridge and there is also a car/passenger ferry which runs every hour from Ayamonte to Villa Real. Further afield, the stunning city of Seville and the Donana National Park, the largest in Europe, are both within easy driving of around 1 hour. Closer by there is a large water park and of course the 18 hole Isla Canela golf course where guests get concessionary green fees.

Notes: A change of linen and towels takes place at the end of each week. Guests must supply their own beach towels. Maid service is available but must be paid for locally.Entertainment in the apartment includes a range of children’s games and a large selection of DVD movies. Smoking is not allowed in the apartment but can take place on the balcony area only. The apartment sleeps 4 but additional crockery/cutlery etc. is provided for another 2 occasional visitors. A lift takes visitors from the secure parking area on the ground floor to the apartment on the 3rd.floor.Although accessible by wheelchair the apartment has not been specially adapted. All windows and terrace doors have mosquito screens fitted which means they can be left open in the evenings for natural ventilation. The apartment was completed in 2004 and the condition is as new.

Costa de la Luz and Isla Canela: 'The Costa de la Luz' literally translates as 'The Coast of Light'.It is a beatiful example of the Spain of yesteryear.Largely untouched by mass tourism it does not suffer the same problems of overcrowded beaches and high rise buildings evident on the other Spanish Costa's.Situated as it is right next to Portugal it shares the same climate and advantages of both Countries.In fact it is regularly referred to as 'The Spanish Algarve'.It's proximity to the African coast produces a warm climate most times of the year although normally a light breeze ensures that even in the heat of summer temperatures are pleasent. The beatiful golden sands of the 7 kilometer rustic beach at Isla Canela is washed clean by the Atlantic Ocean and is never crowded.Beach bars and sunbed/shade rental during the season comliment the beach without being intrusive.There are a number of luxury hotels nearby and the Marina also houses a small commercial centre with shops, restaurants, cafe/bars and water sports.

Punte del Moral and Ayamonte: The picturesque fishing village of Punte del Moral stands immediately opposite the apartment across the tidal basin.This is a working port and visitors will be fascinated by the coming and going of the boats as they bring in their catch each day.The small restaurants which adorn the quay side sell wonderful fish which has literally been landed that day. Ayamonte stands on the River Guadiana which seperates Spain and Portugal.It is a typical white cottages Spanish town and a visit is really like stepping back in time.No fish and chip shops and kiss me quick hats here!.It has two lovely squares where the Spanish residents sit and watch the world go by and a particularly good restaurant which serves the local delicasy of serano ham from the black acorn fed pig.This is a must do experience.A small car/passenger ferry crosses from here to Portugal and until recent times was the only connection.The ferry docks at the small Portugese town of Villa Real,which is another gem to visit.

Golf and other Activities in the Area: There are around a dozen golf courses within a 30 kilometre radius of Isla Canela. Further afield into the Algarve and towards Seville are another dozen reachable by car in around 90 minutes. The local course at Isla Canela is a real challenge. It is an 18 hole par 72 parkland course, close to the sea with lush vegetation and a number of water features. It has a fine clubhouse and restaurant together with driving range and a fully stocked pro's shop. Buggies are available although not necessary as the course is reasonably flat. Discounted green fees of up to 44% are available on this course to renters of the apartment. Around 30 minutes drive from the apartment is a large water park with all the usual facilities expected at such locations. The Donana National Park is around one hours' drive away and should not be missed. Not only for the wildlife there, but to experience the drive along the 35 km.of untouched and uninhabited beach, which is quite breathtaking.

Holiday of a lifetime

This is the first time my wife and I have been abroard so it was a bit of a gamble to take an apartment, but I must say it was wonderful. Everything was spick and span and well provided for and the resort was clean and very friendly.We have taken self-catering in Britain before but nowhere near as good as this. We hope we shall be able to return to this apartment again. [P.S I think the owners must have arranged the weather for us, it was gorgeous!

Relaxing holiday

The appartment is very nice and has all you need for a holiday but the swimming-pool is very small. You can have a nice time in the terrace with a marvellous view on the harbour.
Isla Canela has a big beautiful beach. Ayamonte is near from Isla Canela but it is necessary to have a car.
I highly recommend it.

A beatiful view on the harbour . Fishing boats leaving in the morning and returning in the evening. Nearby the beach beautiful and big.
The appartment nice, clean and friendly. A swimmingpool small but cosy and nice to cool down after such lovely weather.
We were with for of us and had a wonderfull stay. Isla Canela is nice, Ayamonte a friendly and beautiful little town.
If you can, go !

Me and my friends spend a week in this apartment, and was one of the best low cost vacations i'ver ever had!!
The apartment is weel located, near the beach, is well equipped, and very confortable.
Tha perfect spot to spend a calm week, in a special place, with all the confort you need!!!
An experience to repeat.

Very nice apartment. Clean and well maintained. Every thing you need TV, Video,CD,DVD etc. A home from home. Location quiet with nice bars and restaurants. Local town 10 mins drive away, real Spanish feel to it not full of tourists. Apartment facing harbour which is nice. Sun in the everning after the beach. Tennis local, bike hire and the best beach and beach bar you will come across 250 mtrs away. Must try the sardines at the beach bar. If you are looking for a action packed holiday WRONG place. If you want a really nice relaxing holiday with one of the greatest beaches you will come across. THIS IS IT.
