..........what we require of our guests. You absolutely MUST serve Charleston Tea (we furnish it) to your spouse in bed at sunrise. It gets 'worse'. Did you notice the bar stools and table in the first picture? That is from our upstairs balcony. You are also required to drink wine from our local vineyard (we furnish it) at sunset. This is all included in the contract that we will both sign. Intrigued? Please continue reading… I have been in the enviable position of owning two other properties at Wild Dunes - Seascape and Ocean Club. The Seascape property was valued at $700,000 and the Ocean Club property was worth $1,200,000. That was certainly ‘tall cotton’ by anyone’s standards. Alas - herein lies the rub - I was not happy. My greatest desire was to awaken in the morning, propped up on my pillow with a steaming cup of tea or coffee in my hand, look out a massive window directly onto a scene of waves crashing on the beach. Visualizing myself opening the sliding glass doors, I would hear the hypnotic crescendo of the rise and fall of the waves and feel the mist as it seeped gently into the room. The crowning touch was to watch the sun’s golden orb edge upward over the water as I sipped my morning beverage and basked in the glow. However, at both of the other properties, if I propped up on my pillow and looked straight ahead, I had a glorious view of the.....TV. I could have done this back home.

As you can surmise, I am a dreamer. My web site does not have a lot of meat and potatoes. VRBO when I last looked had 7 Port O’Call listings (#661, #41704, #20357, #7381, #9703, #52420 and #46431.) I would suggest that you check these out and compare. All of the owners have a common goal - we want to meet your needs and insure that you have a wonderful vacation experience. What makes us unique vs other Port O' Call villas is we are DIRECTLY on the ocean and have a third floor unit (no over head noise and better angle) allowing us a second story 'widow's walk' that leads to a deck above our screened-in porch overlooking the beach and ocean for miles beyond. The screened in porch below the deck provides a distinct advantage for the top floor units. (Elevator provided at no additional cost!) We can truthfully brag that we have the best view of the beach from both our deck and porch, without exception!

Our villa has been completely redecorated and updated from top to bottom when we purchased it in 2004 - we cordially invite you to enjoy our new furniture, ultra modern appliances, freshly painted and newly carpeted vacation haven. A large portion of the wall displays an original painting of a beach sunrise, while other signed and numbered prints create interior beauty that is only rivaled by the real and actual breathtaking oceanfront view. We are proud to boast that we have the finest housekeeper in Wild Dunes. If you are so inclined, you may picnic off our floor without the benefit of a blanket. We provide needs of those wishing WiFi that wish to use our wireless, high speed Internet connection to stay in touch with their offices. In one of the pictures you will note a desk that you can work from. We have installed a special screen for the window, that filters out the sun but not the vision of the waves lapping at the shoreline. Sorry, but you cannot stay beyond your week even if your boss calls me and says it is the most productive week of work you have ever had.

No one that knows me well ever accused me of embellishment! But since you and I are total strangers, and my writing may have an embellishing tone you are urged to click on 'comments' further down on the web page. None of them stand to gain financially from you renting our place. Their words come from the heart.

Location, location, location ! If your desire is to be at the beach, if you want to know it will be there right in front of you, all around you, 24/7, then this is the location for you. You can eat out at some of the finest restaurants in the South, play golf, tour Fort Fisher, or ride the bikes that we have provided for you. But what it all boils down to is the setting of our condo is all about the beach and one’s love for the ocean and certainly mine. Imagine our sadness for the past two years of watching the ocean slowly laying claim to our beach. But in the end it took us nine million dollars, two months, working 7/24 to claim it back.

The South has two major cities that reek of culture, the arts & history: Savannah and Charleston. It never ceases to amaze me I can have the beach and Charleston at the same time...two very different worlds, 25 minutes apart. They say Heaven is going to be a pretty nice place. In my opinion, it has some competition!

My first priority is to make sure we meet your needs. Much as we would like to have you rent from us, it is meeting your needs that is more important. To that end I have additional information to email you. Just fill out the form adjacent to this text. Ask any particular questions you might have. Hopefully I can answer them. We are good about keeping it up to date. We only rent by the week all year round, Saturday to Saturday. There is one exception: you can rent January or February (four weeks) by the month.

About Peter Cole

My name is Peter Cole and I am the owner’s representative. I wear many hats: an oceanfront, resort, rental condo owner; property manager; rental agent; dog tender (That is Woody in the picture. Spends most of his day in the chair across from my desk watching me work.) and favorite; loving husband. As a Medicare card carrying senior, I look back over a full life. My chosen life ‘occupation’ (my Mother could never bring herself to call it a job) was to take teens on cross country camping trips; 3000 teens in all, spanning 33 years. My nephew Doug slipped into my shoes as I slipped into my retirement. My friends and relatives worried about my having too much time on my hands in retirement so they gave me their resort properties to manage. My reputation as a good manager/agent grew. Now 12 properties fill my stable. It was 1967 when I took ownership of my first rental property. In the years since, we have bought and sold 11. I come to you with a lot of experience. I want you to know if you have not already figured it out, I have perfected BS to an art form. You would be best to take anything I say, and anyone else about their property for that matter, with a grain of salt. The proof is in the pudding....the acid test is what past renters have to say. With no ax to grind; you can take what they say to the bank.

A week worth waiting for all year!

Each year, my husband and I set aside one special week at the beach that's exclusively for us...and this was it! The unit was well-equipped (nice new kitchen), nicely decorated, immaculately clean, and the ocean views were stunning. We felt like special guests being hosted by good friends who took care to make sure we had everything we could possibly need. Hopefully, this was the first of many visits to come.

2nd Visit, Still Amazing!

This was our second time staying at This condo and we still had an amazing time. The condo was very clean and we never got tired of the ocean views from each room. The new updated kitchen is beautiful and had everything we needed. Also, the new washer and dryer were great because they now allow us to fit in more laundry:) We loved the many magazines, books, movies, and daily newspaper delivery. These came in handy for any rainy moments.
My husband and I love coming here because it is pet friendly, ocean front, and a quick walk to the pool and a nearby restaurant/bar (Sandbar). We appreciate this condo because of its short distance to our favorite places-Poe's Tavern, Salt, Coconut Joes, Morgan Creek Grill, Mt. Pleasant stores and restaurants (Five Loaves, Locals), kayaking at Nature Adventures Outfitters on Shem Creek, and of course all that downtown Charleston has to offer.
Definitely want to return for a third visit!

Look No Further!

We spent a week in this beautiful oceanfront condo in June 2014. From the minute we opened the door to our last day, it was awesome! The condo has the most amazing views of the ocean from every room. So close you can hear it! We spent every sunrise and every evening watching the stars from the top deck. The screened in porch is the perfect place for breakfast and lunch. Wonderful kitchen and comfortable funishings.
The owner has truly thought of everything. Morning paper, current magazines, 2 bikes, super clean condo, awesome appliances, well equipped kitchen, beach chairs and beach toys, the list is endless. The pool is beautiful and just a short walk from the beach. The owner has renting condos down to an art form and the process was flawless.
We have rented several condos in this area over the years and this is by far the best one.
We can't wait to return next year! Thank you for making our vacation so relaxing and memorable.

When Can We Come Back???

Our stay was actually November of 2012 but can't believe I forgot to leave an online review... ABSOLUTELY amazing!!!! You will NOT be disappointed. I have never been so relaxed as I was at this condo. The screened in porch was awesome. We left the sliding doors open at night to fall asleep to the waves crashing. I got up to watch the sunrise every morning from the rooftop balcony. I wish I could give this condo 10 stars because it deserves it.... right down to the owner. He thought of everything!! We will definitely visit again. Thank you for making this condo our "home away from home".

Our Best Vacation!

My wife and I are seasoned travelers. We agree that this was our best vacation and know why: the condo and the owner.

The Condo
Exactly as pictured and described, providing an unobstructed, 180-degree view of the ocean - and one of only 12 units on the top floor with a widow's walk above. We watched the sun rise as dolphins passed by, and walked and biked the private beach - with the sounds of the ocean providing a subtle de-stresser.

The owner - Has thought of EVERYTHING. We're leaving tomorrow and still noticing things he's provided to ensure that guests have a wonderful time. The condo is beautifully appointed in a beachy chic style with so many extras that make it feel like home, remove the stresses of travel, and help guests deal with the unexpected - a welcome gift bottle of local wine and Charleston tea; lists and recommendations; wi-fi; grocery discount cards; a morning paper delivered to the door; cookbook, books, magazines, DVD's; a very well equipped kitchen including a coffee grinder and cappuccino maker; bikes and tire pump; beach supplies; night lights; and more. Even on the few rainy days we had there was more than enough to keep us busy.

(After eating locally on our first night we cancelled all of the dinner reservations in Charleston we waited months to get and continued to dine locally - Coda del Pesce, Langdon's, Long Island Cafe, High Thyme, Old Village Post House, and Sullivan's.)

We can't wait to return. Please don't tell too many people or we'll never get back in.
