My son's team played in a tournament at the Dan Duquette Baseball Academy (10 minutes away) over Memorial Day Weekend. The boys stay at the camp....while the parents and other kids need to find their own lodging. Not knowing the area, I looked at VRBO and Home Away and found Mike's property. We had 5 families (13 total people) and rented both the house and cottage for 3 nights.
Plenty of room and what a blast.....thanks to great weather as well. With a group like ours, why even consider hotel rooms. Mike was terrific to deal with from my first inquiry about the property. Everything advertised about the house and cottage was true.....clean....well maintained, etc....except we didn't know there was a dock in the back of the house until we arrived. The dock and firepit became the center of our activities after our ballgames. You can swim, fish and tie up the boats off the dock.
The other parents on the baseball team would come and hang out with us because wherever they were staying at night, their place didn't have to offer what this rental does during the day. We chose to stay and cookout instead of going out to restaurants. Even though we were around the firepit until 1:30-2am.....we all felt completely relaxed at this location. I highly, highly recommend this location for comfort, fun and relaxation. I know we are coming back!
Restaurants aren't too far....Hinsdale, Dalton and the edge of Pittsfield. Shopping center about 15 minutes away. Just bring your linens, fishing poles and enjoy your stay!
