'Down town' Harbor Springs at an affordable price! We offer you our 'Second Home'. YES your pets are welcome! The address is 620 Second Street. 2 blocks to town for shopping, dining, beach, marina and church. The house is clean and has all the amenities of a home. All linens are provided. A fully equipped kitchen to prepare all your meals. Washer, Dryer, Central Air, Central Vacuum system! Free WI-FI! Enjoy the patio while cooking on the NATURAL GAS BB-Q grill. The large yard is great for kids to play & animals to run. The house sleeps 4 comfortable, but can accommodate 5. The back bedroom hosts a queen size bed, TV/VCR. The front bedroom now has a bunk bed with a Twin on top, Full on bottom! Living room has a flat screen TV and DVD. This truly is a great place to vacation. 2012 we completely remodeled the bathroom! Come to Harbor Springs any time of the year! Tell your friends you're going to your 'Second Home' in Harbor Springs!

Skiing information: We are located approx. 5 miles from Nubs Nob & Boyne Highlands ski resorts. Both resorts offer Down hill and Cross country skiing, snow boarding and snow shoeing trails. Chestnut Valley has night Cross Country skiing trails that connect to Nubs Nob trails.

Golf information: There are too many Golf courses to list them all! Boyne Highlands, Chestnut valley, Springbrook, Little Traverse Bay Golf course, Harbor Point (semi-private), Birchwood the list goes on and on!

Christmas season: Thanksgiving weekend is when the Christmas tree is set up downtown. Santa arrives in the afternoon for the children. In the evening here is a tree lighting ceremony where everyone sings Christmas carols before they light the tree! You have to attend on of these! It's like a Norman Rockwell painting!

December hosts the Annual Christmas Open houses. Harbor Springs is on the 1st Wednesday of December while Petoskey holds theirs the 1st Friday of December. This is when the stores downtown are open from 6:00pm to 9:00pm and offer seasonal goodies and drinks! This is a beautiful time to be here! Small town festivities!

My name is Linda. I am married to Abe Thiessen for 8 years now! We have 2 beautiful daughters! Amelia and Grace! We currently live in Charlevoix, MI.

Why Linda or Abe Thiessen chose Harbor Springs

I bought this house when I was 20 years old. It's been in the family since my Grandpa built it. When I had to move to Charlevoix for work, I didn't want to sell the house. We decided to turn it into a vacation rental. We don't have a lot of money. We are not trying to 'make' money off of it. We just need it to pay for itself in order to keep it! We like to keep the price down so EVERYONE can enjoy Harbor Springs! Although Harbor Springs is known for it 'money', we'd like to keep it affordable so average people can vacation too!

What makes this house unique

The location is everything! Our house is located just 2 blocks from down town. Located behind the Holy Childhood Church, you can faintly hear the church bells in the morning! Close enough to town to walk to dinner, church and the beach. Yet far enough out to be quiet and relaxing!

Notes: We try to make this as affordable and comfortable as we can by providing most things needed on vacation. Our yard is large so children & animals can play. We do allow dogs. With respect to guests without animals, we ask that you keep the animals off the furniture and pick up after them in the yard. 2009 we added a dishwasher, new dining table, chairs and beachtowels! 2010 we added wireless wi-fi and a brand NEW Natural gas BB-Q! The sprinkler system scheduled to turn on at 5:00 a.m. Please feel free to help out in any of the flower gardens or window boxes! We do have a fire pit set up in the back yard for a small camp fire on chilly nights! Please have the hose out and ready just in case! There is plenty of parking in the driveway for your boat or snow mobile trailer and guests! The laundry room is a good size. We have both washer & dryer. We do supply the soap and fabric softener. There is a counter to fold your laundry

Charming, clean and great location in Harbor Sprin

My wife, 15-month-old daughter and pug thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Harbor Springs. The house is perfect for a small family, with everything you need for a vacation. A short walk or bike ride away is downtown Harbor Springs with wonderful shops, restaurants, beach, etc.

The home is very clean, with laundry, dishwasher, microwave, etc. to really make it feel like your home away from home. Linda was also extremely helpul! We plan on staying there again in the future!
Recommended for:  Pet-friendly, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Pleasant Stay

We enjoyed our mid-week stay. property was close to many points of interest. Very quite and comfortable. Nicely landscaped with just about everything you need close at hand, The big plus for us was being able to bring our pets. With the exception of the lawn service mowing the grass at 7:30 AM on Wednesday morning, and waking us up, everything was wonderful.

Charming and clean!

We stayed here for a few nights immeddiately after labor day. The pictures on the website do not do justice to the cottage. It is so much nicer and roomier than in the pictures. The cottage was spotless when we got in. We loved the spacious bathroom and the back bedroom. The master bedroom is really spacious and that was a treat! Ample closets, kitchen shelves...everythings was thought out well. We liked the layout of the cottage...it worked perfectly for us. The kitchen was stocked with everything one could possibly need. The garden in the side was a very inviting place to have breakfast or just lounge around.
We really enjoyed our stay and my husband must have commented atleast three or four times that we need to come back to the area, and to the same cottage. And the cottage is reasonably priced.
Thank you for letting us bring our pets and sharing your cottage with us.

Beautiful Cottage

We had a wonderful time in Harbor Springs and at this cottage. It was just what we were looking for -relaxation!!!! We walked into town every morning, cute little town. Everything about the listing of the house was accurate. The house is now blue not tan like shown in the picture. Thanks for letting us stay, we would stay here again.

Nice Cozy Place

This house is a nice cozy place for 2-4 people and is very dog friendly. Description of property was accurate. Kitchen had everything you might need and the outdoor barbeque grill was excellent. Location was close to downtown and we walked everyday to the dog beach. Linda and Abe, the owners, provided excellent service. Will rent again the next time we travel to Harbor Springs.
