Our Perfect Holiday in Portugal

We stayed here for 2 weeks last year, there were four of us in the house, my husband, myself and my 2 adult children. Room for more!
The house was very clean and comfortable, the plumbing worked without fail throughout our entire stay and if there had been a problem the couple in charge of cleaning and the garden were very helpful and willing. I especially liked the linen, sheets that were pristine and smelled of outdoor drying. The pool was crystalline and cold, perfect for cooling off - it gets very hot. We loved the gardens, lots of private spots to sit and contemplate the view over the surrounding pine trees towards the glittering sea and Estoril in the distance across the water. The plum trees were in fruit and we enjoyed snacking standing up and helping ourselves, at the owners' invitation.
The situation was magical, the quiet a blessing - just birds and the countryside and always a view - at no point is the house closed in. We could not see another house, the driveway before this one indicated a home but the trees screened it.
However, if you wanted some town/village life it was not far away in Sesimbra where there were plentiful cafes, restaurants and one or two nice shops. We bought very good fresh fish, cheese, vegetables and bread at the local market in the old part of the town. A well kept promenade along the beach for strolling and a pedestrian walkway on top of the quay stretching out into the harbour, also good at sunset if you feel energetic and then you can reward yourself with a drink (or three and dinner) in a cafe looking over the sea.
A very good beach with room for everybody was nearby with an excellent restaurant on it, perfect for watching the sunset if you could be bothered to leave the house where we could also see the sun go down.
Lisbon is not far away but my son aged 28 and daughter 24 who are both party animals talked about going clubbing but never made the effort as they were perfectly content just to chill out.
We did one day in Lisbon to look at the sights and it was very worthwhile and interesting.
The barbecue was great and we grilled a lot of fresh fish on it with ease, it's in the right place protected from the wind and two steps from the living room doors.
On our one grey day my daughter and I checked out a huge retail Outlet mall at about 45 minutes driving distance and came away with some bargains.
What more can I say, we plan to go back!
