Our chalet is beautifully and comfortably furnished with a clean, modern interior. The property is surrounded by trees which adds to its privacy and secluded feel. The atmosphere is further enhanced by the lake view. There is a spacious deck on the front of the chalet which overlooks the lake and a smaller one off the master bedroom. Or perhaps you might like to relax in the jetted tub in the bathroom. The kitchen is fully equipped for those of you who like to cook. There are also several restaurants to choose from in the Big Lake/Wasilla area. This spacious and attractive housekeeping cabin sleeps up to six people. The master bedroom has a queen bed, plus television and DVD/VCR player, as well as a CD player. The loft has two full beds and overlooks the living room for a great view of the lake. There is another DVD/VCR unit in the living room as well as a stereo with CD/cassette player. The living/dining room is light and airy and opens up to a large deck.

The chalet overlooks Jade Lake and is only about 1/2 miles from one of the two marinas on Big Lake. You can enjoy all the activity at Big Lake and then retire to quiet and secluded Jade Lake for some true relaxation. We are located about 18 miles from Wasilla and only 1 1/2 hour drive from Anchorage.

The Big Lake area is Alaska's well known summer and winter playground. Big Lake Recreational Area is popular for swimming, water-skiing, camping, boating, and fishing during the summer. It's a great place for cross-country skiing and snowmobiling in the winter. Nearby rentals are available for jet skis or snowmobiles, depending on the season. We are located within a few miles of Big Lake Airport, just a few miles off the Parks highway, gateway to Denali and the interior.

Our family (5 total) enjoyed our stay very much. We highly recommend this property. The location was great; the chalet was so comfortable, clean and spacious. Our teenage boys loved having the loft for their own space. It was nice coming "home" to the chalet to relax every evening. The kitchen was great and came in very handy for breakfasts and suppers. We were sad to leave. The owners were very responsive in every way. It was an excellent experience.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Families with Teenagers, Romantic Getaway
